prepare to cry of joy: baking powder contains acid so it doesn’t need a separate activating agent (self-activates in wet environment), whereas baking soda is just sodium bicarbonate and it needs to be activated with acid to provide leavening action. SOLVED

Then the follow up question: why could I not come to this conclusion when I googled “is baking soda sodium bicarbonate”. My father the inventor of toaster strudel is a chemistry professor, but sadly so unacquainted with kitchen things I couldn’t get an answer out of him.

Anubis: How do you feel about death?My own is inevitable, much more pressing is how tricky it is up to that point, but after you check out, it’s not really your problem. The problem is the pain and mistakes and sickness and all other such miseries that come before. The possibility of some other people’s death is scarier even than that.

Arawn: What is the most terrifying thing you’ve ever done?Ate yoghurt two months after the use by date, probably. Rode a bike the wrong direction in a one-way street. I’m very risk averse, so it’s mostly personal terror from talking to Someone or taking That Exam.

Loki: What is the best trick you’ve ever pulled on someone?I’m more into companionable pun- and reference-based jokes than into putting someone in danger, or even into a state of mild annoyance.When I was in third grade, I wanted to do this sort of aerobics-dancing-thingie and tried to convince my mother to let me take classes by trying to demonstrate my skill. I performed little choreographies I came up with and told her we  learned that in PE. Had lead her by her nose for three months. (I don’t know to this day why she wouldn’t let me do a sport I enjoyed.) The main goal, however, was not to prank her.

Aphrodite: What do you think of yourself?Ummmmmm. It very much depends on how I feel at a given time, but I usually think of myself as quite clever, if not very good at following through on my plans.

Hermes: Have you ever stolen anything?Yes, mostly on principle and in the manner and worth equivalent to stealing one bite off of your date’s plate when they’re not looking.

Morpheus: Do you daydream often? Of what?All the damn time! And mostly analysing one or the other narrative, character, plot point or possible alternative storyline in my head. Also, scenario planning for the near future and impossible events. (Why is Eve’s name in Only lovers left alive Eve when she clearly pre-dates Christianity herself? What am I going to cook for dinner? If I got seated on an airplane next to Helen Mirren for hours and we played amoeba, who would win?)

1. What is your go to flavor of salad dressing?French. (Garlic-yoghurt. I once bought French dressing in the belief it was like all the other, normal French dressings, and then it was some dipshit dill-oil sauce?)

3. What TV show can you quote the most?Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

5. What’s your study routine?Go to class, take notes. Merge notes, slides and literature into a higher form of of notes. Forget about them forever.

7. Hot showers or cold showers?HOT, unless it’s those horrid humid summer months when you’d even try to light your cigarette with an ice cube.

9. What age were you given “the talk?”I… wasn’t? I got a book sometime in fourth or fifth grade, though it did not contain much new information at that point and focused mainly on pregnancy stages and older kids’ jealousy.

11. What’s one Halloween candy that you would hate getting as a child?We don’t have Halloween, well, didn’t have it when I was young. I dislike raw marshmallows though.

13. What’s one slang term you refuse to use?Fuckboy is the first that comes to mind.

15. Hardback, paperback, or e-books?Ideally, leather-bound first editions dedicated to me personally. Realistically, I love a physical copy but there’s many texts that are not available in the language I want for a price I can pay, if at all.

17. Do you keep your car/room neat or messy?Sadly, messy.

19. If I looked in your wallet, what would I find?Debit card, whatever those customer fidelity cards are, some cash and coin, tiny scissors, receipts, photos.

whether or not the 4th ST movie happens depends on how well Beyond performs financially. the main cast signed for the 4th movie, but that doesn't mean it's happening for sure, it just means that IF it happens, they're contractually obligated to participate.
