Hacia el final del siglo XVIII, Barcelona había crecido hasta convertirse en una ciudad próspera, comercial e industriosa. Sólo recientemente había obtenido su puerto marítimo la licencia real para el comercio directo con las Américas, y los productos de este intercambio accedieron de inmediato a los puestos de los mercados urbanos como el del Borne.

Carrer de Ferran _ Gothic Quarter. Our trip coincided with the Finals of the Copa del Rey between Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao, whose fans took over the tourist centers in town. Barcelona won, 3-1.
