DIANA SCHERER channels guts with elastics and cabbage. FEELING THIS.
Braces Off <3
Once the former Winter Soldier started to wear his long hair in a ponytail more regularly, it became a regular habit for him to wear hair elastics around his wrists most of the time. Bucky saw someone else flick a person with a hair elastic, and he decided it would be a great way to tease people. And then he figured out that hair elastics and rubber bands have great potential as deadly weapons. To Steve Rogers, it was hard to not be reminded of Bucky’s days as a sniper for the Howling Commandos. To Sam Wilson, it was a headache. Wanda, Natasha, and Bucky regularly share hair elastics with each other (and they are all well-groomed enough that lice are not an issue, Nat wishes he would wash his hair more but she doesn’t say anything.) Bucky teaches the girls how to shoot hair elastics in combat, but neither of them are nearly as good as he is.
The enemies of the Avengers learned the hard way to not underestimate Bucky Barnes.
Hydra Operative #1 *holds his injured eye* OW!
Hydra operative #2: Hold still--who did this to you?
#1: It was Barnes! Owch!
#2: What did he hit you with? That doesn’t look like a gun wound.
#1: It’s not!
#2: What did he do then? Did he poke you in the eye with a gun barrel?
#1: No, HE SHOT ME WITH A HAIR TIE!
