Seriously, raise your hand if you learned SOMETHING from these! They were so good, and we learned so much. There is SO MUCH that could be taught in that same format today. Honestly, why are we not doing more of this?
How did you become a band?
Spencer and I worked together, had the same interest in music and decided to start a band! We starting writing songs for “Skyrocket” and realized this is what we wanted to do. After recording “Skyrocket,” we found the rest of the band and are getting ready for shows! - Justin
Where do you guys draw your influences for your music?
I'm more of a fan of newer punk bands like Real Friends, The Story So Far, Neck Deep, and State Champs. Albums like What You Don't See, Life's Not Out To Get You, and Maybe This Place Is The Same And We're Just Changing influenced the record for me. - Justin
I grew up listening to a large selection of 2000s emo and punk bands. I can get into my fair share of other genres, like post-hardcore and other things that go along with that, but emo/punk music is what I draw more from. Ryan Key (Yellowcard) and Jesse Lacey (Brand New) are my two biggest influences, along with other artists like Cartel, Motion City Soundtrack, Say Anything, Taking Back Sunday, and other bands from that area of music. -Spencer
What’s your favorite part about being in a band?
So far it's been people who have connected with the lyrics that meant a lot to me. It's unreal to make an impact on somebody with the lyrics I wrote. There's nothing I'd rather be doing. - Justin
It's been surreal, and even weird, in the absolute best way, that I sat down in a room with one of my best friends, we wrote some songs together, and so many people are already listening. To have people care about the music and see it spread like this already has been beyond incredible. We're very grateful for and happy with the experience of it all so far – Spencer.
What are the bands future plans?
Play as many shows as possible! Hopefully tour later this year, just try to get the music out to as many people as possible. - Justin
I just want to play music in as many places as possible, and as often as possible. I'm definitely excited to keep working at it and take our songwriting to new levels on our second record. - Spencer
What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
I was definitely a Spongebob kid hah – Justin
I loved Spongebob, but I honestly wish this question wasn't confined to just cartoons, because Drake & Josh is hands down the best show out there.- Spencer
Favorite pizza topping?
Bacon, banana peppers, or pineapple, because I don't care who says pineapple doesn't belong on pizza, it is amazing. - Justin
Justin always gets this super tasty pizza with something like banana peppers and hot sauce drizzle or something on it. Whatever is on that pizza is my favorite.- Spencer
If you could have one superpower what would it be?
Freeze time, that would be so lit. - Justin
Being able to teleport would be a dope superpower to have.- Spencer
What is the first album you ever bought?
Blink-182 - Cashmire Cat. – Justin
I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love by My Chemical Romance. “Early Sunsets over Monroeville” is still one of my favorite songs ever written.- Spencer
What’s the last show you watched on Netflix?
The Office! Favorite show, watched it like 3 times through – Justin
I've been watching a lot of Supernatural lately. That show kicks ass.- Spencer
Anything else you’d like to say?
Thanks to anyone whose already checked out our new record “Skyrocket.” We're very grateful for all the support we've been shown so far, and we're excited to see what the future holds for us as a band. We also want to thank Pup Fresh for the interview. You guys rock.
