"Even broken wings still remember the sky…"
─────────────── ✧ ───────────────
Elden is a 25 y/o avian shapeshifter from Althea; the hidden city of Caelthoryn inhabited by winged beings capable of taking human form thanks to the mystical ✦ Moonveil Shards ✦ — fragments of a celestial meteorite that fell during a full moon centuries ago. Unlike most of his kind, Elden was born with a stabilized lineage, meaning he doesn’t require a shard to remain human (standing at 6'1" tall).
However, the truth behind his existence is far more unusual. Elden belonged to the first clutch of eggs laid by his biological mother, a rare avian hybrid whose body carried the magic of the Moonveil Shards within her own blood. When she nested, traces of that magic were passed directly into the eggs themselves. Most of them were empty shells that never developed life at all. Elden was the only surviving hatchling. Years later, his younger siblings —𝑳𝒚𝒏𝒙, 𝑬𝒍𝒊𝒂́𝒏 and 𝑨𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒂 — would be born carrying that same magic naturally inside them as well.
He was born on February 4th♒ beneath a violent winter storm and spent his earliest years deep within the forests of Caelthoryn alongside his parents. Despite belonging to a race whose entire culture revolved around flying, Elden was born with a malformed right wing that prevented him from soaring through the skies on his own. While others flew freely above the clouds, he remained earthbound, quietly learning to live with the ache of feeling “unfinished.”
When Elden was around 12–13 years old, tragedy shattered his life. During a massive windstorm that tore through the forests, he was thrown from his nest while trying to protect his newly hatched siblings. Unable to fly because of his malformed wing, he plummeted through the trees and disappeared into the storm. His parents died in the disaster, and for years Elden believed his siblings had perished as well. In reality, Lynx, Elián and Alana survived and were secretly raised by a great white owl deep within Caelthoryn’s forests until they were old enough to fend for themselves.
Severely injured and unconscious, Elden involuntarily transformed into his human form during the fall. A human family traveling nearby found him buried beneath broken branches and leaves. Due to his weakened state, he appeared far younger than he truly was — resembling a fragile child of barely five or six years old.
The couple, unable to have more children after the miraculous birth of their daughter Liora , chose to adopt him without hesitation. They had always dreamed of giving their daughter a younger sibling so she would never grow up alone, and somehow Elden arrived in their lives exactly when they needed him most.
For the first time in years, Elden experienced warmth without fear.
Liora quickly became his closest companion. They spent countless days reading stories, wandering through forests, and sharing secrets beneath candlelight. Eventually, Elden confessed the truth about what he truly was. Rather than fear, Liora simply accepted him as family.
His adoptive mother taught him sewing and tailoring, something he slowly turned into one of the purest ways he expresses love: repairing torn clothes, designing outfits for those he cares about, and stitching comfort into the lives of others. Even now, he still carries sewing scissors with him everywhere he goes.
Eventually, Elden reunited with his younger siblings — Lynx, Elián and Alana — though the scars of that storm never truly faded. Despite his calm demeanor, he always carried the fear of losing his family again.
Everything changed once more when he met Aerin during herbology studies in Althea. Aerin — another avian shapeshifter — had the opposite anomaly: her left wing was incomplet. Together, their wings fit perfectly. After countless failed attempts, laughter-filled falls and quiet encouragements, they finally learned to fly as one beneath pink skies. That moment became Elden’s first and greatest love.
They built a quiet life together: studying medicinal plants, sewing clothes, traveling across Caelthoryn, and dreaming of a future side by side. But everything collapsed during the war unleashed by the fallen king Lionel — a tragedy born from grief, obsession, and the loss of Selene, the Goddess of the Forest.
Aerin died while helping evacuate wounded civilians near the burning borders between forest and kingdom. Elden tried to reach her, but without her… he could no longer fly.
Since her death, he has never touched the skies again.
Around the age of 20–21, in the fragile aftermath of the war, Elden found a mysterious child born from a sacred lotus flower beneath the moonlit waters of Caelthoryn’s holy lake. The baby — Neisha — appeared strangely developed, as if she had been nurtured inside the flower for years. Without fully understanding what she was, Elden adopted her without hesitation.
Now, at 25, Elden lives quietly in the forests of Caelthoryn alongside his siblings and Neisha. His younger siblings naturally became her older brothers and sister, forming a family bound not only by blood, but by survival, loss, healing, and love.
Neisha sees Elden as her true father. And for him, she became the reason he kept going — the quiet proof that something gentle could still grow after everything burned down.
Elden remains deeply caring, emotionally reserved, and fiercely protective. He hides his sorrow behind calm gestures: staring too long at skies he no longer flies through, fixing clothes when anxiety rises, or silently counting the presence of everyone he loves just to make sure they are still there.
And despite everything he has lost… part of him still believes that even broken wings can learn to carry others home.
