moreover like. ok i am a mohg nuance person yes. but also why do mohg glazers a la “miquella charmed him to be evil” always, like. forget the formless mother. a whole ass Outer God. do we think a whole ass outer god will have no influence at all and is just like. yeah man. have some blood powers for free. yeah its just for style points. yeah do whatever you want

like oh yeah the giant lake of blood in his domain? yeah nothing to do with the formless mother. the outer god with all the blood powers and the affinity of blood. yeah that was miquella and mohg was just chilling the whole time. no yeah when mohg was gonna make his own dynasty that was uhhhh i mean he was just gonna talk to people real nicies to get it done. nothing to read into anywhere

“frenzied flame itself ISNT actually evil” also in and of itself why shabriri IS undoubtedly a shady evil guy, but he tempts you with what is at least a genuinely sympathetic consideration: people are suffering, and melina will die for you. if you do things like this, then not only will melina not have to die, but eventually there will be no more suffering at all!

but what does shabriri care about suffering? not only is he supposedly the guy who fucked over all the nomads, but he’s literally piloting the corpse of a former friend of yours. and even the way he acts is just shady as hell, so theres no way he ACTUALLY cares about the suffering of others, right?

and maybe, maybe not. but its every likelihood he’s just telling you that in order to propel YOU towards being lord, no matter what he wants out of it. so what would a Clearly Evil Guy be put there to say about the frenzied flame, if he actually does have somewhat of a point?

but the frenzied flame itself… probably doesn’t even care. it may not even have a will of its own. its just a force of nature, that can then be wielded however anyone sees fit to use it

the elden ring gods are less forces or moral constants in their own rights, and more of tools to be wielded by the characters. outlets of power. a sword can be used to defend or it can be used to kill, depending on how you use it— but the sword itself isn’t “good” or “evil”.
