Played a few hours of ESO, so far it's alright but nothing special

Just another MMO, and considering it's a 60$ game with an extra 15$/mo subscription I probably won't be getting it myself.

To be fair though, I'm definitely not an MMO person, I've played 2 week trials for plenty of them but never liked one enough to pay for it and actually get into it

So if you're an old ES fan but aren't necessarily an MMO fan you might not like the style of play, and there's nothing resembling the older games other than names and lore. And if you're a die hard MMO fan you might like the game, but it seems to similar to WOW and Guild Wars and all of them to really catch interest.

If you like it though then awesome, you've got a new game to play! It's just not for me haha

Anyone else having trouble with ESO today?

I don't get too far after logging in. Is it internet connection? 

It also likes to crash right after that.

Finally, the NDA lifts...

Okay, I can now admit to a few things.

1. I've been in the Elder Scrolls Online Beta a few times.

2. It isn't the horrible trainwreck people say it is, nor is it the vessel by which salvation shall descend upon the ungodly.  I'm having fun with it so far, and people will love or hate it for different reasons, so give yourself a chance to play it before writing it off.

3. I will admit to hoping that the game does well, because I'm in contract to write an Unofficial Strategy Guide to the game, and I do like the nice dent in my bills I've been able to make so far.  But I won't sugarcoat it, yes, the game does have quite a few little glitches to iron out before launch.

4. I'm from an Elder Scrolls background, and I was able to spend the entire Beta happily hoarding crafting materials, killing mudcrabs, and reading lorebooks just like my little heart desired.  That being said, if I'd wanted to jump into a group and have fun/do dungeons/kill things I definitely could have, and I did once or twice.

5. I never want to spend 40 hours gaming in three days ever again.  Good lord, I thought my eyes were going to melt.  Got a lot done though.

6. Dedicated ES fans will want this game just so they can explore the places they've always heard about.  The entire Aldmeri starting area is full of Khajiit and their cities look like gypsy caravans, a fact which made me absurdly happy.  It's really neat, and the architecture and details are fabulous.

Adding all this detail to the clothes is gonna take awhile so no update pic today.I might not put another pic up until I have the rest of the body done. Also I probably won't be working on Ruby this weekend since I've got a Elder Scrolls beta to participate in.
