“I’ve helped her several times before. She will probably just be excited and surprised that I want to help with yours and the others’ training.” That wasn’t completely true, but who could tell if he was lying? Not that he actually needed to. It wouldn’t be difficult to convince their mother. “Let’s say that isn’t enough, and she does ask me why. I’ll just tell her I want to assist and learn more about the poisons she uses for our food. Is that fair enough? Or I could come up with a story that I’d like to know more about her cooking recipes to have them when I’m away for work.” Illumi likely could come up with the most imaginative story for their mother and he would probably pass, no doubt.
“...Yes, that is fine.” Kalluto found it mildly surprising that Illumi, of all of his brothers, was able to think up lies with such ease. Did he do that often? He had always expected Killua to be the only one to do so, maybe Milluki. Certainly not the oldest and most respected of the children. “Is there anything I can do...to thank you?”
