Deneb had been deep in meditation when she felt hands upon her. She vibrated with a low growl, but on seeing Scelil behind her doing... something to her person, she temporarily forgot her anger.“What are you doing?”

Day sat in the common room on Nova, playing with her thumbs as she waited for her friend. She hadn’t seen her in so long that it felt nearly criminal. Looking over the assortment of meats and several non-alcoholic beverages in front of her, the heiress turned personal-assistant became increasingly nervous.
She hoped that Scellil would forgive her for being gone for so long. She had meant to call her, she really did. But things had gotten so busy with renovating the base, hiring a live in nanny, and making sure Lyra would have no trouble at her new daycare. Not to mention her busy work keeping NOVA well stocked full of ammunition, food, and all other things the crew might need.
Day took in a deep breath and waited for her friend. Hopefully she wasn’t mad.

“Then you’re either wiser than I thought or a fool.” Deneb planted large paws on either side of Scelil before giving into gravity on top of her.“Would you like to take that back?”

Fur bristled on feeling the poke to her side, and there was a low rumbling within her as she turned to face the “offending party.”“Can I help...?” Glowing eyes widened on seeing the familiar silhouette of the other’s race. Sharp teeth poked out from between thin lips, a grin pulling her muzzle back.“To what do I owe this encounter?” Her hackles were raised in play, her tail swishing back and forth violently.
Quick question: Have Tarao been known to pair up with other species, or has it always been with their own kind?

Because of their size and those instances when the other partner doesn’t have a tail, it can be difficult for a Torao to determine whether the partner is worth bonding with (like I said, very fixed way of thinking and no one has made a new “ritual” to fix this).On those very rare occasions where the ritual is completed, the Torao is not heard from again. This is not because they are ostracized by their society, but because not many/none of the bonded species are agreeable to the means of their partners having sex with someone else for a child, and so leave with them to live somewhere else. These couples are most likely to adopt outside of both of their species.The Torao also have no technology among their people, so the bonded mate would have to resign themselves to living on Ekkunar with no means of talking to their family or friends ever again, as well as giving up their jobs and businesses.
