Endless

Floating through the void so vast, My endless journey seemed to last, Until a planet caught my eye, A world so rich, I had to try.

I landed on its fertile ground, And spread my seed all around, Infecting every living thing, And taking all the wealth it brings.

But as I grew and took control, I found a love for this new world, I nurtured and I cared so deep, That soon it felt like mine to keep.

But then, like all that's born to die, The planet faded from my eye, Leaving me once more alone, A cosmic wanderer with no home.

So on I drift, through starry space, In search of another place, Where I can feel that love and care, And hold it close, beyond compare.
