Exactly it's so stupid! I've avoided going to parties (not that I've actually been invited to many) because of the pressure to drink, and my anxiety. I recently went to one as it was my best friend's 18th and she was lovely about me not wanting to drink. As first party experiences go, it was really nice and it was in a safe environment (wow I sound super lame). I mean, I'm lucky that there were a couple other people totally okay with me not drinking, and there was literally one other person who wasn't drinking (mainly because of health reasons). It's super weird though because when I came home, I jokingly said to my mum "I didn't drink, are you proud of me!?" and she really bluntly said no... like she said something along the lines of saying that it's weird for me to not want to drink. Surely you should be happy that your daughter has no intentions of drinking? Like???????? It baffles me.
