yk what i want to talk about. how i keep getting thrown out of fics bc shane's passivity in the bedroom is prjected over the rest of his life and their relationship which is a disservice to his role as THE mover and shaker... why would you attribute draco being unable to cast a patronus to him having an awful childhood and therefore no happy memories to pull from when it is soooooo much more interesting to explore the idea that he's someone who was so uncomplicatedly happy for so long that he didn't value those moments enough and when he DID finally gain perspective through suffering he was so traumatised that he struggled to remember anything except the bad things

what bothers me is i see rachel reid taking the blame for every flaw in the story and simultaneously getting no credit for the shit people go crazy over, in the same way that the people making these posts are simultaneously literary critics and have never seen a tv show in their entire lives. how are we talking about the interiority of rr's prose and also being like, yes, so, when the camera zooms in? that is ART. why are there such vastly different standards for critique. golly. i really can't think of any reason.
