Err, Anon here! I’m moving to Lumiose to help as an Electrician, but my only Pokémon is Oshawott. I don’t want to endanger him with Electricity, so do you have any Pokémon you think would be good for me to befriend and/or catch?
Well first off congratulations on getting to work in Lumiose City. I hear it's beautiful there at night!
As for your Oshawott, I don't think it's a requirement for you to bring him to work, sometimes jobs will have people and pokemon on staff to help you, like maybe a Volbtor or Magnamite there to help regulate electricity.
However if your work doesn't have that, and you need a pokemon partners help, then I'd recommend something small, unless you're working in Lumiose Tower, then you might need to find a partner a big larger.
Mouse like pokemon like Pikachu, Dedene, and Emolga are solid partners, however their power is a bit limited, with Pikachu being the only one that can evolve and still stay moderately sized.
Magnamite and Magnaton are good choices, and can conduct electricity really well so there's less risk of you getting zapped.
If you're from Sinnoh, Shinx is an excellent partner! However we don't have alot of electric types in rehome placement right now.
Perhaps go and check your local pokemon center or any local trade message boards online.
I know alot of pokemon centers try to have events once a month for helping pokemon find homes, like big meet n greets.
That's the best place to meet new partners.
Electabuzz are powerful but be careful with Eleckid as it's charges are a bit unstable while it's still learning.
Those are pokemon I'd recommend off the bat, but try one of those events, you might find an unexpected partner there!
