Rule of Engagement
This is mainly an ask blog, with some light RP aspects.
While some aspects from the games are used, its more of a “Real Life” situation, falling onto more real animal aspects. Game mechanics like levels aren't really gauged.
there is also a lot of educational aspects, so expect to learn something.
I also encourage you to check out my YouTube and Twitch as I make much more content and would love to make a lot of fun content that you all can be a part of.

What Kind of Ranger Am I?
Well, there are two main types of rangers, Special Ops an Field Rangers.
(Unsure if this will work/is allowed, but fuck it, going all out)
“Pika?”
*A voice called from some nearby bushes, as a unique looking Pikachu scampered into view. Its eyes strangely dull, with fur much paler than most of its kind had. And was the poor thing’s tail ripped off? He stood upright, looking straight at Rai.*
“Excuse me, can you help me?”
*A Pikachu that can talk? How rare!*
Oh, well this is quite a surprise.
Though its not like I havent encountered talking pokemon before.
Looks like you've been through quite a bit little one.
Got another one for you. Bold Weavile and serious Kantonian Ninetales.
A Bold Weavile isn't too unusual.
They are actually pack creatures and usually work in a unit.
More Bold Natured Weavile might either be a leader or 2nd in command of a pack.
You can almost always tell which one is Bold Nature because of the very visible scars from the many fights they get into.
They are much more tanky and bulky so they usually take more hits.
---
Ahhh Serious Ninetales. This is almost expected in this pokemon but they can have a much bigger variety of natures, they just dont show it as often.
Serious nature are for pokemon who have a sense of duty or responsibility.
They will take work given to them very seriously which you might notice in your own partner.
I recommend trying to deligate it duties and giving it rewards for that.
Maybe give it a job to watch over something simple or to make sure food doesn't over cook.
This way it can have jobs to do and doesn't feel too purposeless, and when the job is completed, they can get a little reward and hopefully loosen up a bit.
Yeah! Thought some times people try to ask things that might be a bit out there or within their own headcannons, so I try to answer in a way that both keeps the world grounded but accepts their POV as well.
Here's to hoping everybody's been having an exciting spring! It's currently baby season here at the Marsh, and a lot of our rare populations have been building themselves up more. Notably, the Churine bushel is welcoming 12 new sprouts in their family! Efforts to secure a Sun Stone for them have developed greatly over the past few months, so with any luck, we will be looking at a Dredear in our Marsh soon!
OK, OK small update. One of the subjects we retrieve is no longer dangling between life and death and is…stable. we’re gonna continue to keep them sedated for a bit longer. We don’t wanna risk them moving and ripping apart the stitches and adhesive that are being used to keep them together.
Out of the subjects we retrieved from the lab they were in the best shape the others definitely had less thought put into them. they’re more like someone throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks.
I wonder what Rai would have to say about that o.o
I would haft to say that this is pretty unique!
Lax nature doesn't necessarily mean lazy, just comfortable.
Hawlucha are pretty prideful in their skills, power and spectical.
A Lax nature is a bit special due to its fighting style, being much more defensive and even passive.
This absolutely is not a bad thing but you might see your Hawlucha being a bit ostracized from others.
By nature, they tend to charge in and fight with pride head on, while a Lax nature might avoid, dodge and counter in a more strategic and subtle way.
Its not a bad thing by any means and might give your Hawlucha an advantage, but there are some social problems that might arise from it that you both might need to deal with.
// just clarifying something about feline behavior (ooc-wise). is feline pokemon behavior (litten and sprigatito, in particular) based on wild felines in the same area, or domesticated felines? european wild cats are solitary, but domestic cats are very social. in fact, that's where the misconception that domestic cats are solitary comes from!
Little bit of both.
I base it a bit off of the Anime and how they portray feline pokemon, and my own domestic cats and one that is pretty timid herself.
They were both feral so thinking about catching a wild feline pokemon thats adjusting to domestic life.
My best friend in the shape of a litten has a timid nature! I'm curious about what you'd know about it?
Litten, much like many feline pokemon are pretty independent, and sometimes this can lead to a more fearful or Timid nature, very avoidant or unaggressive.
This completely flies against the expected perception of this line, especially Incineroar, however this isnt where it ends.
While Incineroar are known for being loud, boastful and in your face, a more Timid nature is pretty well received by groups that might simply need help like parents, the elderly and individuals with disabilities.
A more Timid nature doesn't necessarily mean weak. In fact some pokemon with highly contrasting personalities can make for excellence in unexpected fields.
You should see how your Litten might do as a service Pokemon, they might be a pretty different help.
I've asked about my pikachus Sparks nature (sassy) but now I'm somewhat curious about if what that'll mean if I ever decide to evolve her into a Raichu
Thats hard to answer and really depends on your Pikachu's desire to evolve.
If your Pikachu has a strong personality and no desire to evolve at this time, it just might not.
Of course this will boil down less to nature and more to communication between you and her and if she wants to evolve.
You could also bring up the idea of Evolving somewhere like Alola and then she will be an Alolan Raichu.
Communication and understanding will be your best friend here.
She’s been healing, so well, with the ear grafts I didn’t think she would have precise enough balance to run. Her typing seam… inconsistent but for the chimeras that seam to be the norm for them. The other two surviving chimeras expressed a similar phenomenon .I wonder if that’s intentional or not. She’s definitely not expressing any of the abilities that we would ordinarily expect to see with the component pieces she was made from just like the other two. Alexandria calls the phenomena Chimeric Change.
I would expect her to act like a Deerling, but she really doesn’t. comparatively, she’s very aggressive not in an angry way, but willing to roughhouse kind of way.
