Ava Luna: Electric Balloon
Ava Luna's release Electric Balloon is a soulful pop rock group that has a free flowing rhythm throughout this album. In part, the album feels like an old river, it wanders (the vocals vary from breathing soul to screaming rock in individual songs) manages to consistently go in the right direction. Listening through this album I somehow find myself finding comparisons to both The Talking Heads and How To Dress Well. And I'll admit these aren't accurate comparison but somewhere in the milieu is the sound on this album. The Talking Heads comparison comes directly from the song Plain Speech, which I would strongly advise listening to for it's incredible diversity and I really like Judy and Prpl as well, but aren't so easy to find videos for...
