excuse spelling mistakes cos i'm just going to go at it

its been a little while since I complained about the plethora of amazing nights I have on my doorstep as a south London resident (not all of these SOUTH london tho) I'm just too spoilt basically and my life is in my hands to have a really fun time with my mates

but on Friday we have the choice of THREE

ELECTRIC MINDS; I've got a mate whose opinion I really really trust who has been asking me to come to this for a while; now I've been to a few electric minds nights before and theyve always struck me as being a little too cool for school. I guess my own problems with Electric Minds are my own problems with Tech-House or House music, I'm a child of the hardcore continuum which in my opinion House has no place. Saying that both Axel Bolman and John Talabot have legitimate bodies of work; like albums that I both love which the other nights do not necassarily have; but do I have time for a narrative? do I have the patience for a journey when my aspergers brain wants some gratification, sonic warfare in the Kode9 sense of the word. One thing it will have going for it though is less 18 year olds in snapbacks and girls who won't feel threatened by the clientele which I'm always for.

FOUR TET; becuase its Four Tet who 2 years ago gave me the best live/DJ set i've ever seen in my life at the Warehouse project. And hes playing next to Champion and Terror Danjah; now isnt that something. That is an exciting insight to the bangers he might end up playing. If you've heard BEAUTIFUL REWIND his last album you can most definitely hear the Pulse X/Pirate Radio/Early Zomby in there, the guy is coming BACK to the club. He's more in tune to what is working on the dancefloor than a contemporary like Jamie XX who makes laptop tunes first and foremost for the sunny festival. Over the last year, someone has told Four Tet what a "banger" is and he's like "errr. yeh, I can make these to" and when you're classically train in piano/jazz/every instrument in the world, isnt it amazing to hear a person like that make something that bangs hard... oh writing this is making me xcited

NIGHT SLUGS; of all the record labels I have ever fealt an affinity to, I'd say Night SLugs is the one. Moreso than Swamp81 which kind of feels like a boys club, BokBok and L-Vis have created an all encompassing sensation that anybody is welcome to join (see; theyre retakes on grime, ballroom/vogue, footwork)....Also having been to Night SLugs nights since they were 1 (they had Oneman playing in Brighton when one of the crew was studying down there, back when Girl Unit was still Girl U KNOW IT) I can say theyre just really fun nights, never ever any aggro, rewinds a plenty, L Vis almost certainly ready to pull out 4-5 exclusives to send people into raptures....plus Girl Unit may just play WUT which is about as happy as you'll ever see me on a dancefloor..

SO

choices basically, do I go safe, something old, something new, something blue. I'm blessed; no reason not to go out there and have a good time with good friends and basically live life like the last days of Rome; we're living in History right now.... In 10 years time someone will may be like "!!!!"
