Electricity Basics
Electrons are the electric charges, positively charged particles. The positive charges, or repulsion, make the electrons move faster towards the nucleus. As the electrons continue to move faster, so do the particles, causing the electrostatic force. This electrostatic force can be made to create a very large amount of energy and electricity, called "electromagnetism" to flow in a given body.
There are many different types of electromagnetic energy. These different kinds of energy include light, sound, heat, electromagnetic radiation, sound waves, and radio frequency. All forms of electromagnetic energy are classified by their frequency range. When there is more than one type of electromagnetic energy present at the same time, it is known as "microwave radiation."
The source of electromagnetic energy is through the electromagnetic spectrum. In fact, the term "electricity" itself was derived from the fact that it is electromagnetic in nature. When electricity moves into a circuit, it has the same effects on the electrons in a circuit as they would experience if they were to go through an electric current.
When there is a difference in the amounts of the different types of electromagnetic energy present, it creates a field between the two, known as "magnetism," where the electric charges will be repelled from the field. As the repellents move closer to the other particles, they will create a magnetic field between them, which in turn will have the effect of attracting the repellents. It is this attraction and repulsion, which produce an electric current in a circuit. As this process goes on, the number of electrons in a circuit increases, causing the electric current to flow in a circuit.
Electricity has many different forms. There are different types of electricity used for different uses, depending on what the application of electricity is. One form of electricity used is known as alternating current (AC). AC electricity is the most common form of electricity used for homes because it produces an electric current that can be used to power almost anything in a home.
DC electricity is also the most common form of electricity used by businesses, factories, government offices and medical facilities. The reason why this type of electricity is most popular is because it has a high output of energy and a wide range of other benefits such as being able to be easily installed and maintained.
There are many uses for electricity such as lighting, heating, cooling, and other functions in the home.
