art supplies felt too obvious and he's pretty sure she's rich enough to have any supplies she wishes for, so Soojung is given a cute penguin hoodie for when she doesn't need a onesie disguise but still wants to subtly support her Brand. . . and a pair of these sweet penguin shades because it's sunny in Los Angeles. watch out if worn together; AN ABSOLUTE UNIT OF A LOOK.

Soojung eagerly tears open her gifts, before rubbing her face fondly on the hoodie to test its softness. Hm...perfect. With little thought she wiggles into it and puts the penguin shades on as well, lifting her arms in the air while still sitting cross-legged on the couch. "How do I look!" she chirps, now crossing her arms over her hips, "I'm sure I look amazing. I always look amazing." One has to wonder which side of the family she inherited her self-confidence from: probably both, considering her parents.

Momentarily thrown off by her words about God, Mateo let it roll off his back as most comments like that usually did. "If you ever have anymore questions in the future, I'll hopefully have answers to them. As for now, I'll quiet distracting you from your work."

“Don’t think so,” Saeron responded, a shrug rolling off her shoulders, “It’s ok though, we can still hang out as usual. I am a super magnanimous person and will forgive today’s slight!” She jokingly put on pompous airs at that, but it didn’t take too long for her to finish a rough-looking but moving image of the Virgin Mary statue before her. Clasping her hands together, she muttered a prayer for herself, her family and her two best friends before keeping her supplies, all the while remaining reverent of the images she was handling.

After finally zipping the final of her pens into the wing of her penguin backpack, she slung it over her back before giving a polite, if not stiff bow to Mateo. “Visit again sometime!” she chirped, looking at ease despite obviously being bummed just moments earlier, “I’m sure I’ll see you if miss Gilyoung is still dating uncle Jangil!”

Mateo forced himself to sit up a little straighter although his shoulders wanted to slump just a hair in being unable to help. "I understand. If you like I can pick around to see what I can learn. But yes, she will be fine."

“That’s ok,” Saeron’s tone remained light as she began blocking out the shadows in the image she had sketched up- it only took moments for her to create a detailed pencil sketch before she began shading it in with her pens, “I’ll just get chewed out by the professor and be sad for a little while because I really wanted to be helpful, but I don’t blame you at all!”

She adjusted her penguin to a seated position before opening the flap that made up the head to fish out another set of pens. “Not like you can ask God about it! He’s not with us anymore, even if we still seek His guidance and everything,” she continued, eyes glued to the statue without recognising how flippant she had sounded, “Things happen sometimes! We don’t know everything, and that’s ok.”

"There's other priests you may ask," Mateo said apologetically. "And sisters who might know something on what you're looking into." He sat down in a pew.

“I don’t know how to talk to them,” she admitted truthfully, putting away her sketchbook before ruffling her hair aggressively with her free hand in an act of stimming, “I only know how to talk to you. I can’t just approach other people! That’s not how it’s supposed to work.” Saeron pouted at the apology, before rifling through her penguin-shaped backpack to find more art supplies.

“Guess I’ll just have to wing it with whatever I’ve found off Naver,” she stated plainly, her tone resigned as she placed another sketchbook before her before pulling out some pens, “I hope the Virgin Mary doesn’t mind me making a quick sketch of her- I’m not going home empty-handed.”

"I don't know what that is, you might want to ask someone else," Mateo said with a simple shrug, looking at Saeron.

Saeron looked down, staunchly staring at the tiles on the ground now. She had been delving into research for one of her assignments as a teaching assignment about religious imagery in Catholic churches, but when even the priest she knew had no clue of what she was looking for, the mortification and anxiety was starting to set in. Her hands unconsciously clenched around the sketchpad she had been carrying in both hands (filled with an extensive amount of references she had quickly drawn up in a bid to help Mateo understand better), before she quickly shuffled over to the pews.

“I’m doomed,” she cried out dramatically, placing the back of her hand over her forehead like a damsel in distress, “If I can’t get this up by tomorrow I’d never hear the end of it from the professor.”
