What a fantastic program! Are your girls #TechGirls? Middle Eastern and North African Teens Arrive in the United States for TechGirls Exchange: “Tech-savvy teens from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Palestinian Territories, and Tunisia will participate in the fourth annual TechGirls exchange program from July 21-August 12. While in the United States, they will develop the knowledge, resources, peer networks, and mentor relationships necessary to pursue higher education and careers in technology. Increasing opportunities for women and girls in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields is an important step towards realizing greater equality for women across the world and widening the pipeline for the next generation of STEM workers.” #OneWorld #ElectrifyAfrica http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2015/07/245079.htm

Everyone Deserves Light: Fighting Energy Poverty in Africa

A tremendous effort for equality and opportunity. Check out this article from Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls for a look at energy poverty. Teach or have kids? This is a great piece to help them learn and discuss a small but important piece of inequality.
