Total 2016 Word Count: I’m not entirely sure. I didn’t start writing again until mid-year and it was to pick back up on a WIP that has been sitting there and whimpering quietly for love. The fic is at a word count of 100,695 right now and I added ten chapters? I think? And I know I did a rewrite of what had already been posted.

Favorite Fic: Sanctuary Kansas. And after plugging away for so long on Skull’s Maw it’s shocking how short Sanctuary Kansas seems. It could probably do with a rewrite, but I am super proud of the plot and that it’s mostly canon compliant.
Hardest Fic: Dark Heart Dawning (second fave fic) This one took six or seven months to write and there are still parts of it that need work (like the chapter with Tracy and Kevin and Charlie in the hotel room desperately needs a rewrite). It’s also one of the few times I’ve used a beta and I discovered I don’t work well with sending things back and forth. Probably why I’ll never be a published in print book author. My beta was AMAZING and wonderful and lovely and excellent. I’m just a poo gas head with a weird writing process.
Do you plan to take prompts in 2017? Yes in fact I’ll probably beg and plead for them.
What was the best thing about 2016? That I started writing again after stopping for so long.
What was the worst thing about 2016? That the rest of my life was so turned upside down and hard with loosing my job and not finding solid full time work (still)
Any last thoughts for 2016? The Year of the Fire Monkey is NOT over. Hold tight until Jan 28th.
Comparison to 2015: Two fics in 2015 - I’ll Always Come When You Call - a gift for the superb beta I mentioned above which is why Charlie is dressed as a Ham for Halloween ala Scout from To Kill a Mockingbird. I wish this fic had more love.
Flicker and Glint - a Benny Lafitte centric dark fairytale about Purgatory. It never gets attention because it’s not a Benny/Dean fic and because I kill Andrea off pretty quickly. O_O

Plans for 2017: Finish my WIP. Write the sequel to The Crescent City Chronicles. It’s my super hero AU, and I wrote the outline and plot for the sequel on the plane flights over Christmas. Dean is The Hunter (super agility, speed and strength, fast healing, enhanced vision and hearing, superior fighting skills), Sam is Electro (ability to generate and manipulate electric energy, immunity to electricity) and Castiel is The Comet (morphs into a being made of dry ice, hot and freezing cold all at once. He has super strength and speed, and the ability to fly but his touch freezes and he’s unable to speak). The sequel will involve the heroes in the neighboring city of Angelus (Naomi, Hester and Hannah), some paperback novelist named Marv, and the origin of Sam and Dean’s powers.
I also want to write a Mad Max-esque Team Free Will thing, a Harry Dresden SPN cross over (finally) and a 101 Arabian Nights AU this year if I can. And the sequel to Ellie Arroway because we need to find out what happened to Gabriel and his ship. And.... ugh all the things I want to write.
