How electromagnetic metering pumps work?
Conventional industrial pumps (‘Direct Drive pumps’) are designed with the impeller portion of the pump attached directly to the drive shaft of the motor which requires extensive manipulation to contain the liquids from entering the motor casing.
In the innovative magnetic drive pumps the submersible end of the pump and the motor drive are separated with a motor bracket. The outer end of the motor shaft contains a drive magnet which is in sync with another powerful magnet attached to the near-end of the impeller rod. The rotation of the motor shaft magnet makes the corresponding magnet on the impeller also rotate at the same speed. This results in a smoothly operating pump without the risk of the damage from a leak through any shaft seal.
