Sierra Nevada’s Electropical Juicy IPA (Picked up at Trader Joe’s). A 3 of 4. Smells of orange and some tropical fruit and a faint candy-like sweetness. Drinks with quite a light body and not a ton of bitterness, but a nice clean fruitiness up front. Refreshing, although quite simple.

PREMIERED on Vocalo 91.1FM this morning, this is #ELECTROPICAL Pt 3  from producer duo JUAN LAYA & JORGE MONTIEL. They are from Venezuela but based in London and are highly influenced by 70s funk and disco. They are actually known for their work as #LOSCHARLYSOrchestra which is a retro project whose sounds include 70s disco and boogie, plus soul and jazz funk mixed with Latin elements. 

Other projects they have been involved in include The Boogie Man, Andre Espeut Quintet and Chennez & The Midnight Players. But today we shared their newest album titled ELECTROPICAL which is the third edition of this series. It's a really cool combination of those retro sounds but highlights AfroLatin rhythms of Venezuela, as well as Colombian and Andean folk sounds. The 7 track release features artists like J Liendo of Dimension Latina, Pete Herbert and the AfroLatin Drum Ensemble Grupo Madera which is featured on the song #SANJUAN.
