Ryker was at a party for a mutual friend. It was no surprise that his ex was there too that was the risk of overlapping friend circles. It happened so fast. First the power had gone out. Then the sirens. They didn’t rise and fall like weather warnings. The alarm held steady, loud booms of chaos hit the streets. Everyone had spread in different directions. There was no time to think but to run. The military was shooting movement, any figure that moved dead or alive. It was until they got far enough away from the noise. Ryker wasn't alone, he ended up running with his ex, now stuck with her. But not having the heart to leave her behind either. “Of all the people I could be stuck with at the end of the world… it had to be you.”

Seth was sure there was some sort of team bro code that he’d broken, and perhaps some sort of actual code as well. He’d just been caught up in the moment and had been enjoying Steve’s presence. Lately Seth had been vowing to himself to do more things that he wanted. He had come to realize that he had to have more going on for him in his life than just hockey. Seth nodded his head at the man’s words. He knew that Steve was right, he just hadn’t been thinking. His actions made things complicated for the both of them, as after all, Steve’s brother was on his team. “You are right, I’m sorry. I definitely should have asked, all things considered.” Seth said as he knew that normally he had better manners. “There is something about the magic of New Year’s that comes with a sense of clarity.”

Steve was just stunned, the kiss with Seth was absolutely unexpected. The longer their lips were apart, the more Steve wanted to kiss Seth again. He could feel his skin heating up, an overwhelming need just buried deep inside him. He smiled a little bit as the man spoke, just feeling the instant warmth between them “Yeah, the new year does have a special appeal to it that makes you want to take big risks” he said with a little nervous look.

He let his hand move over just a little to rest on Seth’s arm, just wanting to keep as close to the man as he possibly could. He leaned over just a little, thankful everyone else seemed distracted by their own celebrations “You know, if you had asked I would’ve said yes in an instant… and if you wanted more, like… more than just a kiss, I’d say yes to that too”

Moving on from a relationship was far from Aria’s strong suit. She tended to dwell on it, especially if she thought she did something wrong. With Jasper, it was purely the situation that had pulled them apart. Friends told her she should move on from him, but it was never quite that simple. When Aria cared about someone, loved someone, she was in it completely. “Me, too,” she murmured softly.

Eyes lifted up to look at him, offering him a soft squeeze, “I know, yeh always look out fer me,” she assured. “Normally, ‘s no’ bad there. People don’t get too rowdy usually, and we do ‘ave a bouncer. Let ‘im take any punches so yeh don’t mess up this face of yers,” she said playfully, leaning up to offer a soft kiss to his lips. “I do, too, love. Speakin’ of… where ya stayin’?” the words drew out slowly, half considering if he might want to stay with her.

Will had been alive long enough to know what he wanted but it seemed that after some time he realized that all the women he was talking to were after his money. That had caused him to become closed off and sworn off love. He never wanted to get close to a woman after so many used him.

That was until he met Heather. She wasn't like all the other women. She saw him for who he was past being a Duke and a millionaire. She was truly his best friend. He hadn't realized he was falling in love with her till it was too late to turn back.

They were going to be having their biweekly dinner with each other at his house. He had prepared a rather romantic meal of lobster bechamel with lit candles and roses. He was ready to tell her everything.

Clare: was dreading today - and tomorrow. Today was Zig's last day of paternity leave and then she would be on her own for at least eight hours, five days a week until she went back to work a couple months later. It was barely even morning. Both Aleksander and Natasha had been fast asleep since 1 am, so Clare was at least thankful for that. She peeked her eyes at the clock on her bedside table, 5:48am. She let out a heavy sigh and turned back onto her other side to curl into her husband, who she thought was asleep. She looked at Zig's face and reached out to brush his hair back with her own sleepy smile, content to just stare at him forever. She knew it was best for them all that he go back to work, but Clare wanted to selfishly live the rest of their lives without work and just continue in their little fantasy world where the family of four could be home together all day, every day throughout the rest of eternity. "Love you," Clare whispered, not expecting a reply.

Their behavior and subsequent exit from the restaurant was no match for the heavy petting of the car ride. More than once had they sat too long at a red light, tongues tangled as they warmed their winter-chilled hands next to the car's vents. "You're really trying to get me arrested, aren't you."

Vincent let Alexandria lead the path from her front door to her bedroom, but it hadn't stopped a path of clothes from dotting the road to the surface of her bed. The only pause in movement had been to the kitchen counter, where he'd left their meal. Laughter ricocheted down the hallway as every layer of winter clothing was pulled off, largely to his own grumbling. They fell onto her sheets all smiles and his lips were soon on hers in a soft but hungry kiss. "See, how was I supposed to make it through a meal in public when this mouth was right there for tasting?" Vince kissed Alix's jaw and neck, looking up at her with a crooked grin. "So, you going to stop me from having my feast or are we going to quit with the pretense, gorgeous?"

Dana finally set down the last of her four suitcases down in her new dorm room, glancing across the space to the sparsely decorated other half, where her roommate sat on her mattress, not much else in the room to call her own. "Hey, when's the rest of your stuff coming in?" Dana asked, inquisitive. "If you wanna borrow one of my tops for the party tonight because it's not getting here until tomorrow, that's fine."
