elegantly-tasteless reblogged your post:Actual things that should be done with plantations
"neutral" like what are you even talking about
Presenting information objectively. Dates, numbers, first-hand accounts, and not glorifying anything at all. With information presented, I'm sure the same conclusions that slavery was horrifying will be made, but destroying history good or bad, takes away value from history. Lessons can be learned from things that are lost, Spanish Conquistadors made the terrible decision to burn Mesoamerican codexes, so we have lost valuable information. Again plantations are awful emotional places, but historic sites tell us a lot about the time period and its people. I'm trying to say they should not be kept with the intention of glorifying slave owners, but rather as an artifact of a particularly egregious part of humanities history so that it won't be repeated or forgotten.
Ok, how are you currently feeling about Scandal and the road its taking?
Ugh, I think Scandal is starting to get on my nerves. Like I don't really complain about the show as much as other fans do but I feel like it's losing the excitement that pulled us in during season 1. I'm tired of all the angst with Fitz and Liv, I'm tired of Liv not being able to make up her mind, tired of B6-13 and tired of the fact that there is just NOT enough Fitz/Liv sexy time (which, let's be honest, is the main reason I watch that show lol). I just need all these redundant plots to end. Like I know that if Fitz and Liv got together and lived happily ever after then that would be the end of it but everything about the show has gotten so tiring. I went from NEVER missing an episode in the first 2 seasons to missing 6 episodes and having to catch up with them all in the 3rd season

61: What was the last lie I told?
Hmmm, the last lie I told was that I had took some medicine that my mom sent me back to school with. I went home over the Memorial Day weekend and the health guru that my mother is attempting to be has found the most horrific detox. I mean the thing is rancid, and its liquid, and the aftertaste can not be cured!! So I definitely lied my way through her little check in. I eventually took it though (there is no Jesus in that thing)
65: Do I believe in luck?
I do believe in luck in the form of blessings and the favor of God. So in a way I guess I don’t. I try not to attribute things to luck but rather the power of God, so I’m just praying a bit more of that comes my way.
77: What’s a song that always makes me happy when I hear it?
The first song that came to mind was “Still Ray”by Raphael Saadiq. It is so perfect, the beat, the lyrics, passion with which he sings it just reminds me of what love is supposed to look like in action and how I hope to show it.
:)
There are a lot of people that I follow that I would LOVE to meet in real life but I probably never will and it makes me sad
