There has been light elements in throughout the Koei warriors franchise. But they are rare. In Dynasty Warriors, they usually immediately break an opponent's block with one of their strong attacks or chip damage on the block. In hyrule warriors, every attack of a light elemental weapon will increase attack power on all enemies in effect. Light weapons and characters include: Link/Hylian sword/Master sword, Zelda/Rapier, Agitha/Parasol, Fi/Goddess sword, Cucco boss, Toon Link/Light Sword, Medli/Harp, Toon Zelda/ Phantom Arms

Darkness elements can be a powerful element in any musou game. Whether it's one shoting common soldiers, giving percentage damage to make them easier to defeat, or stealing health for healing yourself it always seems to be a broken element. Hyrule warriors kinda lessened the effect to make it more balanced with the rest of the elements (maybe?). Almost having the same effect as light but instead of a crowd it's just one person. Most dark element characters have alot of good attacks to devastate the enemy anyway so it's overlooked. Dark elemental weapon/character is the following: Zelda/Dominion rod, Ganondorf/Great swords, Midna/Shackle, Zant/scimitars, Ghirahim/Demon Blade, Wizzro/Ring, Cia/Scepter, Twili Midna/ Twilight mirror, Young Link/Fierce deity sword and mask, Skull Kid/ Ocarina.

Unlike what the regular Dynasty Warriors games have to offer, Hyrule Warriors offers similar elements with different effects. Fire in Dynasty Warriors allow you to have additional damage on the enemies and if you juggle in the air fire will linger to have continuous damage. In Hyrule warriors, this is scrapped to when Fire element activates they turn enemies into firebombs and when they hit the ground from the air it will not only damage them but anyone close by them. Users of this element is Link/Fire rod, Impa/Naginata, Lana/Summoning gate, Darunia, Volga, Tingle, Linkle/Crossbows (Favorite out of all fire weapons), Toon Link/Sand Wand.

Devil Kings elements 1-Darkness

In Devil Kings there are 4 elements in the game for a weapon. One of them is Darkness. This is used by Devil King, Venus, and Talon(Nobunaga, Kasuga, and Sasuke). This element takes enemies health away when you hit them but also take some of your health if you miss. Lots of enemies and high combos to stay alive on harder difficulties if you use the above characters with the element.

Note:Reaper/Mitsuhide also has the darkness element but not playable in U.S. version.

The third element in the game is lightning. Lighting is in most Koei Warriors games alongside fire. In most games lightning is used for stunning foes at most attack other than strong attack 3. In Hyrule warriors, Lightning is used to have higher damage in the air than on the ground which for fast attacking characters who can juggle well, is a very useful element. The ones who have the lightning element is Link/Gauntlets/Spinner, Sheik/Harp, Lana/Book of sorcery (Favorite), Zelda/Baton, Linkle/Boots, Yuga/Picture Frame

There isn't really such thing as a water element in any warriors games. I don't think I have ever seen a specific water elemented weapon. There was Ice... Water properties against opponents seem to play like a slow attacking lingered element. Somewhat like poison from DW4, it will deal low remaining damage but this will make them have openings to attack easier if they like blocking. Only lasts a few seconds though and instead of poisoned they will be waterlogged or drowning in a water bubble on their head. Water users are the following: Link/Great fairy, Impa/ Giant blade, Lana/ spear, Ruto/ zora scale, Tetra/ Cutlass and pistol, King Daphnes/ sail (aka he is the weapon), Marin/ bell (favorite).

For my elements in Hyrule warriors definitive edition notes

I want to let everybody know that I will only count the main element that the weapon is given. In Lv.4+ weapons you get a secondary element that is interchangeable depending on the battle and enemy for when you use that weapon only. Just because it includes the element doesn't make it both at the same time. For example, Sheik's Lv.4+ harp has it's main element as lighting but adds light for some of enemies weaknesses accordingly.

Devil Kings elements 4-lightning

The final element that I haven't covered is lighting. This is used by Iron Ox, Azure Dragon, and Hornet (Tadakatsu, Masamune, and Ranmaru). This element stuns opponents so you can make more combos. Zaan/Yoshihiro also uses lighting.
