Saint's Passage Elemental Covenant, Book 1 By: Elizabeth Hunter Narrated by: Sean William Doyle Carwyn ap Bryn and Brigid Connor are two e
Elizabeth Hunter is fairly new to me - new enough that I wasn't familiar with Carwyn and Brigid. I didn't even know they had a book before this. Now that I do, I will be gobbling that up. That said, I didn't know about their book until after listening to this one, so I'll just go ahead and say now that I didn't feel like I was missing anything. I just loved this couple, and now that I'm aware, I want to know what got them to this point, what made them a couple.
As for Saint's Passage, I loved the relationship between Carwyn and Brigid. The banter is witty and fun, which is a nice contrast to the seriousness of their current case. And it is a serious one, one that hits Brigid on a personal level. I also liked the elemental premise, and I found their powers fascinating. There are a fair number of characters here, some we only meet a time or two and some who play a more important role, but as I'm learning about Elizabeth Hunter, everyone is well drawn and interesting.
Sean William Doyle gives voice to the characters, and he does it well. I love the accents, and he kept the tone of the story engaging and entertaining. I'm enjoying his narration as much as the story he's drawing me into.
So, I have another reason to check out more of Elizabeth Hunter's work as well as Sean William Doyle's narration, and I'll certainly be seeing what Carwyn and Brigid get up to next.
