Rewatching Elementary Season 1
I honestly forgot how good the first season of elementary is. Like oh my god. The soundtrack, the beautiful scenes of NYC. The brownstone. Angus. Meeting Gregson and Bell for the first time. Joan running through the city, Joan standing up for herself, Joan trying to get Sherlock to open up, Joan meeting with her ex, Joan talking to her parents. And Sherlock playing the violin, and beekeeping, and crashing an opera to find Joan, and admitting that he’s wrong and that he needs Joan’s help and pointing out that Joan enjoys detective work, and arguments between Joan and Sherlock. And Joan saving Sherlock when he’s kidnapped. And Sherlock generally being a nice decent human being and using his deductive skills to help others rather than be an asshole (like deducing that strangers sitting next to him in a restaurant are getting married and then secretly buying them a glass of wine. Or pretending to deduce Watson’s past falsely so as to not remind her that she accidentally killed her patient during surgery) And all the memories of when I first watched the first season and was so delightfully surprised and relieved and happy to see an Asian American woman on tv who wasn’t a stereotype or a love interest on a show that didn’t revolve around her race and her being “un-American” or “not a New Yorker” because she wasn’t white or male and just omg the first season is like this amazing delightful breath of fresh air and rewatching it just gives me all the glee it gave me the first time around
