Talia is a hard worker, she’s competitive and she likes to believe that she’s always right. She’s strong minded, determined and will stop at nothing to get what she wants which is a trait she picked up from one of her mothers. Talia was raised by two women that were very much in love but the fact that that they were caring and possibly the best family that Talia could ask for didn’t make things easier for them. Being different is always hard and when your whole family is different, well let’s just say that Talia has no idea what easy means. Her mothers always told her that what was worth it was never easy and that if she wanted something bad enough she had to work hard for it, that if it was too easy then she would never appreciate it. That was the reason why their family was so special, because it wasn’t easy.

To Talia, the thing that made her special was the fact at her family wasn’t a “normal” one. She had been adopted by the two women after her real parents, just a couple of teenagers, gave her up for adoption. Most would have been upset by the fact that their parents gave them up, but not Talia, she was actually thankful to them for having found her a perfect home to grow up in. At the age of sixteen she discovered that she had something else that made her special, she possessed a power. Talia kept her power hidden from everyone except her mothers who tried everything to make her feel as normal as they possibly could. To them, she was still the perfect child that they had fallen in love with the day they laid eyes on her.

For seven years Talia had a normal life--or as normal as someone with superpowers could have--she finished high school, enrolled in to the police academy, graduated and went in to the force. It was there, however, where it all changed for Talia. Seeing her life and her partner’s life in danger she had no choice but to use her power which led to the government finding out about her power and eventually found her. Because of her background and her job with the police force the government decided to not just take her in as a resident, but to offer her a job as a guard to help keep the residents safe and in check, something that they didn’t tell her she would be doing. Talia was briefed and she knew that she could go in as a simple resident or go in and try to help people, which was something she always wanted, and so she took the job. Talia is always trying to help people putting others before herself, but she also has no trouble putting people in their. She is hoping that being in Lake Grimstone will help her with her power and controlling it so that her emotions don’t rule it she knows that it won’t be easy but then again nothing worthwhile ever is.

JACKSON NORRIS

Talia and Jackson’s interactions usually always end with Talia restraining herself from using her power on him. She knows that he likes to get under her skin and it annoys her that she allows him to but it is hard not to when he is almost teasing her.  She dislikes his who cares attitude and how sarcastic he tends to be around everyone.

RHEA SOTO

Talia would consider Rhea a friend they’ve gone out for drinks after work and even talked a bit about their personal lives, though, Talia always jokes that Rhea is just trying to give her guidance. It’s really a friendship that they both need, at least that’s how Talia sees it. She can see that Rhea hides many things but she never asks because she doesn’t want to push her, she would rather Rhea talk to her on her own terms. Talia wants to gain her trust and show her that she is someone that she can talk to.

WILLIAM MEYER

To Talia William is the definition of mysterious. She knows that he is hiding something but she doesn’t know what that something is and even though she is intrigued by him her gut tells her to just stay away and not even attempt to figure him out. That is exactly what she is doing, now she keeps her distance from him for two reasons; one to follow her gut and the second one being that she doesn’t want him to get the wrong idea and think that she might at all be interested in him.

RYDER GREENE

Ryder and Talia became good friends the moment they started working together but soon enough it became a little more than that. The pair ended up going on quite a few dates and all was going well but just when things began to escalate for them, she called the whole thing off and told him she wanted to go back to being just friends. She would argue that it’s because she didn’t think it was working but the truth is, she does enjoy Ryder’s company and it was working. The only thing is, she doesn’t want to be in a relationship with a fellow guard, even if Ryder is the ideal guy.

MARLEY NOLAN is TWENTY-THREE years old and possesses the ability of WATER MANIPULATION. She looks an awful lot like KAT DENNINGS, though she refuses to admit it. Unfortunately, Marley is CLOSED.

Marley’s Story

Marley was born November 25th in Albany New York, straight into the care of the foster system of the state and she could tell you she’s seen every inch of it and not be lying. Growing up wasn’t what someone would call easy, but for Marley it was normal. It never defined her and she never allowed it to. The last thing she wanted to be was a statistic of her circumstances just because people said she should be one way or another. Marley never changed herself to suit someone else and that led to losing a lot of potential homes. At the age of five and while transferring between homes, Marley was entertaining herself by watching the raindrops streak the glass window and she began seeing pictures in her mind, a child-hood game of finding images in things like a wallpaper pattern. Raindrops began forming into scenery from her favorite storybook, Peter Pan. By the age of sixteen Marley had excelled through academics, a gifted mind, and had also become well in-tune to the way she could step into a puddle and feel the ripples of the water hum through her body or the way her fingertips touching a rainy window could bring intricate pictures to life, and even produce frequencies she turned into songs. Also, in the way she was rarely sick, and when she was, it was only after episodes of her own natural anxiety and panic. With year sixteen came her first fall. Marley quickly forgot her distrusting ways, charmed by the boy so much like herself in the way of only their circumstances. He was another foster who’d outgrown the system. Circumstances wasn’t enough of a commonality between the two and what she was faced with became another reminder that she was meant to grow up impossibly faster than she had already been trying to all on her own. Marley lost an innocence she hadn’t even realized she’d had in the woods she loved so much as a little girl and in her panic she called to her element and honed in on Cole’s heartbeat like a parasite latching onto prey. She was found quickly and taken to the hospital but she doesn’t talk about what happened that day or speak much about the year following the rape, the year that defined and shaped her more than anything else in her life had to that point. Loss followed her like a shadow that seemed to touch everyone but her, though she wished she could be so lucky. She couldn’t seem to stay away from the state that had been a prison for her for eighteen years and she settled in Brooklyn, numbing over from the world and from people, from more loss than she should have faced but less than she felt she deserved for all she’d done. It all hit her hard one night as she found herself walking along the water by the Brooklyn Bridge, her right hand growing restless with anxiety and her chest tight from panic. She channeled it into the water, calling it up the twenty foot drop to her fingertips without losing a single breath and uncaring to anyone who might see. Waves wrapped around the Brooklyn Bridge in mere minutes, tons and tons of water encasing the structure and bringing the traffic bustling across to a screeching halt. Blue eyes were lost to the beauty of the sight, every nerve in her body dancing to the strength flowing through her that would no doubt leave her exerted and exhausted, but for Marley, in a world she just wanted to fall away from…she wanted that exhaustion, wanted it to pull her under, wanted death to finally catch up. Veins tore beneath her skin from the pressure, slow bleeds starting through her body and stinging with pain she so quickly became addicted to for what it could promise her; absolute stillness. Her body couldn’t even tense as she was approached, too focus on the growing wall of water. She had nothing to lose and she felt she had nothing to gain but the words leaving the strangers mouth told her differently, catching her off guard as a sharp throbbing started in her head from a past wound reopening and bleeding down her throat. It was enough to stop her and she sent the wall of water falling like a million raindrops back down to the river before her vision faded out and she was immersed in the dark she craved.

There was no telling how much time had passed before her eyes were opening up to bright white room and no telling how long she stayed there, strangers coming in and out to ‘condition her’, or so it seemed to Marley. She’d sat in stark offices before while people poked at her thoughts. If Marley knew anything in her life it was how to survive, how to adapt, how to use situations to her advantage to get to the outcome she wanted and the thing she was second best at; lying to herself when she needed to in order to cope with the hand she was dealt. Learning that she was now on an island and isolated from the rest of the world wasn’t really seen as a bad thing, more of a step in the right direction. She had wanted to escape the world so being on an island was as close as she could get it seemed. Upon release into the island Marley was surprisingly content to find herself among people like her. It was interesting to her if nothing else, different from everything she’d known and definitely made her days more entertaining, whether it was in an amusing way or in a more dangerous way. Marley has always liked fixes of adrenaline and the more risk to herself safety the better, the more she can push herself the better, the stronger she gets…the better. She’s trying her best to open up and trust but her desire to depend on other people is weak if not non-existent. She’s highly selective where where it matters. It doesn’t mean she won’t be there for anyone if given the chance; she’s fiercely compassionate and loyal to a fault but some should be mindful of abusing her genuine nature and her giving personality. The people she’s loyal to, and protective of, can be great or it can be none because Marley won’t ever count being alone as a loss. It’s a mentality like that that’s made her a beacon on the radars of government agents and guards, Marley is often seen as an unpredictable and potential problem, but that might have something to do with her habit of running and disappearing, or how at the flip of a coin she’s working in the Bar, helping others, and doing everything an outstanding citizen of Grimstone should be doing.

Ian Mako

Ian and Marley have always had an intense relationship, though they never quite knew where they stood. However, now that she is back it would seem like they are trying to find their footing again and perhaps pick up where they left off.

Jay Andrews & Bianca Ortiz

Jay and Bianca are both co-workers of Marley. She hasn’t said much to Jay other than a quick hello in passing so she doesn’t have much of an opinion on the guy other than his a good worker. Things aren’t as clear with Bianca. The two used to be friends but the had a falling out and now neither girl is entirely sure where they stand.

Jackson Norris

Jackson and Marley were sparing partners before she went missing and now that she’s back she’s hoping that things go back to how they used to be. The two always had a good time when they trained and Marley was never scared to call Jackson out, which was something he admired and respected though he would never tell her that.

Caroline Pace

Being a government agent means that Caroline knows more about Marley than even Marley might know about herself. Caroline ordered some tests be run on the girl when she was found. The results came back and they showed that Marley was High-Functioning Autism. Caroline didn’t share that diagnostic with anyone other than Thomas. The man ordered Caroline to keep an eye on Marley and to report back to him anything that she deemed important enough.

Jade's Story

Jade is the bitch of Lake Grimstone, the ultimate bitch. She says whatever is on her mind and doesn’t care who dislikes it. The only people she isn’t downright harsh to are her closest friends and anyone she is in a relationship with at the time but given her dislike of relationships that isn't so much of an option. Most people at Lake Grimstone think her ability to manipulate fire suits her personality. She would say that those people were one hundred percent right. She embraces her bitchy side and in fact, she tells people she wouldn’t change anything about herself-- though how true this is no one knows.

She found out about her power at the age of 6, when she accidentally caused a fire that killed her father. Her mother has never been able to forgive her for that, despite the fact Jade was only a little girl. Ever since that day Jade had tried and failed to gain her mothers approval. Her mother would never fully listen to her, or take notice in her daughter. It would have been quite sad for anyone that had been watching. The only person in her life that truly loved her was her grandma. Someone that Jade could confide in completely and not worry about a thing she thought. Being pulled away from her mother Jade was extremely happy about, she truly misses her grandma though.

Being in Lake Grimstone, Jade is still as bitchy as ever, even when away from her mother things haven’t changed. She was shaped into the bitch she is years ago, even if there is something soft when you manage to reach it. Only one person managed to do that though, Aaron Brody. But of course this didn’t last long when he cheated on her after only a few months of being together and she found out he didn’t actually view it as a solid relationship anyway. Now, doing what she does best, Jade is sticking to just screwing guys over instead of getting any unwanted attachments.

Aaron Brody 

Jade's ex-boyfriend who she quite frankly, cannot stand. She genuinely used to love it though these days she won't admit that to anyone. Any conversation with Aaron will only turn vile, courtesy of Jade that is-- most of the time she tries her very best to avoid him. And if that doesn't work, then she'll try to tear him down.

Darynn Catton

Darynn is Jade’s complete opposite but perhaps that is why Jade enjoys having the girl around. She keeps Jade entertained and she also helps bring the boys around not that Jade needs help with keeping them there but she does enjoy how they show up for Darynn but stay for her. Not being one to really have friends Jade would not consider Darynn a friend they are more like acquaintances. Acquaintances that use each other for ones gain or at least that’s the way it is for Jade.

John Robins 

A friendship between Jade and John was not one that anyone expected especially not Jade and yet a friendship did develop between the two. Jade will never admit it but she likes how John tends to keep her grounded. She also likes how easy it is to make him feel uneasy which has become her new favorite pass time. 

Crystal Cohen

Being cheated on is not the best thing to bond over but Jade and Crystal made it work. The two girls were cheated on and lied to by two best friends and so they had a lot to talk about when they met one rainy day at the coffee shop. While the conversation started because they had both been played their conversation quickly moved to happier things. If a friendship will continue to develop is still up for debate but Jade likes that there’s someone that she can relate to at least up to some extent.
