After being open for five years, Lake Grimstone decided to relocate to lakegrimstonerpg. This is to ensure that we keep going as strong as we always have while also adding new members to the mix, which we have no doubt will be an amazing thing! If you're only just coming across us, then we have included a link above to the new blog and we hope you join us on our new journey!
As you’ve probably gathered by now, we’ve been working on something pretty big for the group: a revamp. We’ve finally finished the new main, and we’re so excited for you to see it. Bios--revamped old ones and new ones--will be re-released soon, but in the meantime, please come look at the new main blog here! All of your admins have been working really hard to put this together, so we really hope you like this!
We want to start off by thanking each and every one of our members for all that you have done and for being patient with us as we move to the next chapter of the rp. We know that the past few months have been quite uneventful rp wise and we want to apologize for that. On our defense, we have been working really hard to move the main rp plot along, we know that isn’t an excuse but we wanted to let you all know what we have been up to, and we are finally ready to do that! With that being said, we hope you all can be around tomorrow as we will begin to unveil part of what we have been working on.
MARLEY NOLAN is TWENTY-THREE years old and possesses the ability of WATER MANIPULATION. She looks an awful lot like KAT DENNINGS, though she refuses to admit it. Unfortunately, Marley is CLOSED.
“Nothing is softer or more flexible than water; nothing can resist me. “
Marley’s Story
Marley was born November 25th in Albany New York, straight into the care of the foster system of the state and she could tell you she’s seen every inch of it and not be lying. Growing up wasn’t what someone would call easy, but for Marley it was normal. It never defined her and she never allowed it to. The last thing she wanted to be was a statistic of her circumstances just because people said she should be one way or another. Marley never changed herself to suit someone else and that led to losing a lot of potential homes. At the age of five and while transferring between homes, Marley was entertaining herself by watching the raindrops streak the glass window and she began seeing pictures in her mind, a child-hood game of finding images in things like a wallpaper pattern. Raindrops began forming into scenery from her favorite storybook, Peter Pan. By the age of sixteen Marley had excelled through academics, a gifted mind, and had also become well in-tune to the way she could step into a puddle and feel the ripples of the water hum through her body or the way her fingertips touching a rainy window could bring intricate pictures to life, and even produce frequencies she turned into songs. Also, in the way she was rarely sick, and when she was, it was only after episodes of her own natural anxiety and panic. With year sixteen came her first fall. Marley quickly forgot her distrusting ways, charmed by the boy so much like herself in the way of only their circumstances. He was another foster who’d outgrown the system. Circumstances wasn’t enough of a commonality between the two and what she was faced with became another reminder that she was meant to grow up impossibly faster than she had already been trying to all on her own. Marley lost an innocence she hadn’t even realized she’d had in the woods she loved so much as a little girl and in her panic she called to her element and honed in on Cole’s heartbeat like a parasite latching onto prey. She was found quickly and taken to the hospital but she doesn’t talk about what happened that day or speak much about the year following the rape, the year that defined and shaped her more than anything else in her life had to that point. Loss followed her like a shadow that seemed to touch everyone but her, though she wished she could be so lucky.
She couldn’t seem to stay away from the state that had been a prison for her for eighteen years and she settled in Brooklyn, numbing over from the world and from people, from more loss than she should have faced but less than she felt she deserved for all she’d done. It all hit her hard one night as she found herself walking along the water by the Brooklyn Bridge, her right hand growing restless with anxiety and her chest tight from panic. She channeled it into the water, calling it up the twenty foot drop to her fingertips without losing a single breath and uncaring to anyone who might see. Waves wrapped around the Brooklyn Bridge in mere minutes, tons and tons of water encasing the structure and bringing the traffic bustling across to a screeching halt. Blue eyes were lost to the beauty of the sight, every nerve in her body dancing to the strength flowing through her that would no doubt leave her exerted and exhausted, but for Marley, in a world she just wanted to fall away from…she wanted that exhaustion, wanted it to pull her under, wanted death to finally catch up. Veins tore beneath her skin from the pressure, slow bleeds starting through her body and stinging with pain she so quickly became addicted to for what it could promise her; absolute stillness. Her body couldn’t even tense as she was approached, too focus on the growing wall of water. She had nothing to lose and she felt she had nothing to gain but the words leaving the strangers mouth told her differently, catching her off guard as a sharp throbbing started in her head from a past wound reopening and bleeding down her throat. It was enough to stop her and she sent the wall of water falling like a million raindrops back down to the river before her vision faded out and she was immersed in the dark she craved.
There was no telling how much time had passed before her eyes were opening up to bright white room and no telling how long she stayed there, strangers coming in and out to ‘condition her’, or so it seemed to Marley. She’d sat in stark offices before while people poked at her thoughts. If Marley knew anything in her life it was how to survive, how to adapt, how to use situations to her advantage to get to the outcome she wanted and the thing she was second best at; lying to herself when she needed to in order to cope with the hand she was dealt. Learning that she was now on an island and isolated from the rest of the world wasn’t really seen as a bad thing, more of a step in the right direction. She had wanted to escape the world so being on an island was as close as she could get it seemed. Upon release into the island Marley was surprisingly content to find herself among people like her. It was interesting to her if nothing else, different from everything she’d known and definitely made her days more entertaining, whether it was in an amusing way or in a more dangerous way. Marley has always liked fixes of adrenaline and the more risk to herself safety the better, the more she can push herself the better, the stronger she gets…the better. She’s trying her best to open up and trust but her desire to depend on other people is weak if not non-existent. She’s highly selective where where it matters. It doesn’t mean she won’t be there for anyone if given the chance; she’s fiercely compassionate and loyal to a fault but some should be mindful of abusing her genuine nature and her giving personality. The people she’s loyal to, and protective of, can be great or it can be none because Marley won’t ever count being alone as a loss. It’s a mentality like that that’s made her a beacon on the radars of government agents and guards, Marley is often seen as an unpredictable and potential problem, but that might have something to do with her habit of running and disappearing, or how at the flip of a coin she’s working in the Bar, helping others, and doing everything an outstanding citizen of Grimstone should be doing.
Ian and Marley have always had an intense relationship, though they never quite knew where they stood. However, now that she is back it would seem like they are trying to find their footing again and perhaps pick up where they left off.
Jay Andrews & Bianca Ortiz
Jay and Bianca are both co-workers of Marley. She hasn’t said much to Jay other than a quick hello in passing so she doesn’t have much of an opinion on the guy other than his a good worker. Things aren’t as clear with Bianca. The two used to be friends but the had a falling out and now neither girl is entirely sure where they stand.
Jackson Norris
Jackson and Marley were sparing partners before she went missing and now that she’s back she’s hoping that things go back to how they used to be. The two always had a good time when they trained and Marley was never scared to call Jackson out, which was something he admired and respected though he would never tell her that.
Caroline Pace
Being a government agent means that Caroline knows more about Marley than even Marley might know about herself. Caroline ordered some tests be run on the girl when she was found. The results came back and they showed that Marley was High-Functioning Autism. Caroline didn’t share that diagnostic with anyone other than Thomas. The man ordered Caroline to keep an eye on Marley and to report back to him anything that she deemed important enough.

We want to start off by thanking each and every one of our members that made this AU event a success. With that being said, you will all be happy to know that we have set an end date for the event. Please be sure that you wrap up all threads before the end date since once the event is over everyone will be going back to Lake Grimstone.
We were thinking on keeping the even going for at least a couple of more weeks. As soon as we come up with a definite date for when the event will end we will make an announcement.
Congratulations, ANA! You have been accepted to Lake Grimstone as FAYE BECKETT; we’re looking forward to seeing you bring her to life within the RP! Now that you’ve been accepted, take a look at OUR MEMBER CHECKLIST. Please send in the account within 24 hours!
ADMIN NOTES: We were really happy to see an app for Faye and after reading through your app we could see that you have a good grasp on her. We can’t wait to start rping with you.

why would you like this character?: I would really like to play Faye because of her personality. I think it could really make for some good plot lines since she is rebellious and unpredictable but also fun and outgoing. I like the unpredictability.
The loud music that had filled the hall has stopped playing and all that’s left of the party are streamers and confetti on the floor. The Peacemaker Ball was a success, both the Belmonte and the Amantea showed up and for the first time in decades they were able to be in the same room without a single drop of blood being shed. It appeared as if the Mayor was going to get what he wanted, peace for his city.
That was until the sun came out shinning its light on the darkness that the night had left behind. In a back alley not far from where the party had taken place three bloodied bodies laid. One of the bodies belonged to Melissa Grayson, the Deputy Mayor, who appeared to have been beaten and drained from her blood. The other two bodies belonged to James Amantea, Henry’s first born son, and Matthew Bergman who was Sarah Belmonte’s right hand.
The peace that had been achieved the night before disappeared the minute that Henry and Sarah were notified of what had occurred. And while no one knows for sure what happened in that back alley, it has not stopped both sides from blaming the other. To make matters worse, the Mayor has now declared war on both families and had secretely been training a special task force to take them down.
Is this AU modern or is it set within a specific time period?
We want to start off by apologizing for the delay in givingyou an answer but we wanted to discuss what would be the best setting for thisevent. After much discussion we have agreed that while an era time would begreat for this event we would have to go with present time as it would betterfit the plot.
We would like to thank all of our members that gave us theirinput!
If the world had a capital, New York City would be it. People from all over the world come to New York for a good time, unfortunately some of those people never make it back home. While crime has something to do with that, the real reason why they don’t make it back home is because they either become a source of food or are turned in to soldiers for one of the two feuding vampire families that run the city.
New York was founded in the 1600’s and ever since then the vampires have walked its streets. There was one powerful family--the Amanteas--that ruled the city. Some even say that they ruled the entire supernatural world, but that was until the mid 1900’s when two of the siblings had falling out over how the family was being run. The sibling feud left the family torn with half of the family remaining loyal to Henry Amantea while the other half pledged their loyalty to Sarah Amantea, who became Sarah Belmonte after marrying Andres Belmonte.
For years the feud between the Amanteas and the Belmontes has terrorized the New York and while most people are oblivious to the evil that surrounds New York, the city’s government officials are not--they were all placed there by either the Amanteas or the Belmontes—In an attempt to keep their city safe and stopping the violence, the mayor has planned a party that will take place on Halloween’s eve of all nights. Both families and their loyal subjects have been invited to attend. With only a few days before what the mayor is calling The Peacemaker Ball, emotions are running high. Will there finally be peace in New York City? That is entirely up to you.
ADMIN NOTE: This is an AU event that will be happening over the course of the coming weeks, commencing OCTOBER 24TH. The AU will stand in place of a Halloween event, though of course, when the AU is over, characters are more than welcome to discuss their actual Halloween, where an event would have been held by Lake Grimstone. Below you will find further information about the event. If you have any questions or suggestions please feel free to come to our inbox.
While your characters will remain largely the same in terms of personality, that is one of the few things that will remain the same. We ask that backstories be changed to fit into this new world, though ensuring that the bio, aside from the inclusion of the supernatural, doesn’t change too much. Connections/relationships will not move from Lake Grimstone to this AU; this means that you have a clean slate for all connections and relationships. The characters will, however, know each other seeing how they are all members from one of the two feuding families–how well your character knows others is entirely up to you.
