Elena asked Lincoln to meet her at the park, so he rushed over excited to see her.
“Lincoln, I know I’ve made promises to you but I think it’s for the best if we break up,” Elena choked out as she held Lincoln’s hands. Lincoln was struck with so many emotions all at once that he couldn’t keep his composure.
“I gave you a promise ring, we’re supposed to get married some day. I don’t understand Elena,” Lincoln cried.
“I just can’t devote myself to you. I love you Lincoln, but I’m graduating this spring and leaving town. I don’t want you to have to struggle through a long distance relationship,” Elena frowned as she walked away.
Lincoln managed to make it home, but said nothing to anyone. Sydney went to console him, asking no questions.
