loud music, conversations, dancing and tasty halloween-themed drinks was making for a pretty good night. gemma was actually enjoying herself more than expected and that was all thanks to elena. not only did she help her with the costume she wore, but just being next to her in general was comforting in a sea of crowded party-goers. she had been standing close to elena for the last fifteen minutes or so, her girlfriend being lost in conversation with some friends. gemma didn’t say much, just observed and spoke when she felt like there was a chance to slip words in. she couldn’t help but notice her and el’s drinks were empty. leaning toward the side of her girlfriend’s head, she spoke in her ear, “i’ll get us more drinks.” after giving elena’s arm a gentle squeeze, she took her girlfriend’s cup and squeezed her way to the kitchen. luckily there were plenty of areas to obtain drinks but it still took her a couple minutes to fill their cups again. once that was finished, gemma entered the main area once again. her gaze immediately went to where she was with elena moments ago. however, she was nowhere to be seen. eyebrows tugged together, she stepped further into the room and started to look a little harder. it was then she saw something unexpected, quite frankly a little upsetting as well. a girl who was in el’s small group of friends, dancing on her. giving her flirty looks in the process. the worst part? elena didn’t seem to be doing anything to stop it. she was dancing along. scoffing at the sight, gemma turned around and headed for the front door. the evening air outside was cool, a little crisp, and just what she needed after seeing what she would categorize as bullshit. she took a seat on the steps, setting elena’s drink to the side and taking a long sip of her own.
