Summer has always been a favorite setting of romance novelists, rom-coms, and fanartists alike, and for good reason: longer, hotter days, vacations, no school... Summer really is the greatest! So we’re celebrating with seven new prompts just before the official start of summer.
The challenge runs June 1-7, with a makeup period from June 8-14.
Here is the prompt list:
Monday, June 1: Bathing Suit
Tuesday, June 2: Camp
Wednesday, June 3: Ice Cream
Thursday, June 4: Heat
Friday, June 5: Tan
Saturday, June 6: Watermelon
Sunday, June 7: Swim
The Rules, Huntie
Submissions open immediately after the prompt reveal and close at 10:59 p.m. CST the day the prompt posts. If you’re super close to finishing, send me a message and we’ll work something out.
During the makeup period, any prompts are accepted on any day.
Stories/art will be posted in the order in which they are received.
Feel free to share your work on Ao3 or AQ, but please link back to the blog when you do so, and if you don’t plan to submit your work to the blog, at least drop a link to let me know were you’ve posted it so I can provide a link for archival reasons.
How does it work?
Use the submit page to submit your post. Format your post using the AQ Guidelines. (It makes it easy on me and Veronica when we’re reblogging things, and everyone’s pretty familiar with them by now.)
One submission per person per prompt per medium per day.
Feel free to complete all of the prompts, pick a few of your favorites, or just do one that really speaks to you. There is absolutely no pressure. I want this to be a fun, relaxed environment that celebrates the RPDR fan culture and some of the incredible talent we have in the fandom.
Remember that all ships, all genres, and all ratings are accepted. If you write it, we want to read it! I would love to see more ships represented this round!
Please feel free to message me here or at my main blog @janssports if you have any other questions.
Like, reblog, and share this post to spread the word. Let me know if you’re planning on participating. And mostly, happy writing!
Miz Cracker is being catfished with Aquaria’s picture, but one day runs into Aquaria out in real life. They engage in conversation and Aquaria is left wondering how Miz Cracker knows them and why they seem to be under the impression they’re in a relationship. The catfish? Kady.
Kady has always been a major Brianna fan. She attended every single show. Even her friends began to become suspicious. As soon as she discovered Miz’s secret account, she knew she had to do something.
Brianna tried her hardest to keep her personal life as private as possible. When she got a follow request from a random beautiful girl, she was confused but intrigued. Then, she went to direct message the girl known as “ageofaquaria”. Turns out she already got a message from her.
“Hey! I know you don’t know me, but I think you’re beautiful!”, Brianna blushed. She never usually got compliments. But when she did, they really made her happy! She replied eagerly “Thank you so much! You are too!”
“Aquaria” didn’t know if she was flirting back or just girls being girls. She convinced herself it was the first option. She pretended she didn’t know what Brianna’s job was, “So what type of job do you have? I’m a fashion stylist!”
Brianna ignored the fact that a random person who found an extremely secret account was messaging her. She was blinded by the compliments. “I’m actually a singer! I love performing!”
“Aquaria” wanted to stop doing this. But she couldn’t. She was finally talking to her idol. “That’s great! Why aren’t I accepted in your account yet?”
Brianna quickly checked her follow requests and accepted her into her account. “I’m sorry! Welcome to my XXXclusive account!”
“Aquaria” suspected this account would be filled with things about her personal life. But instead, it was sexual images. “Aquaria” turned her phone off. She saw something she didn’t want to see. This was something a morally bankrupt person would do! She decided it was best to ignore Brianna.
A few months later, Brianna saw the gorgeous girl who ended up ghosting her in the mall. She knew she had to interact with her, she would regret it forever if she didn’t.
“Hey Aquaria! How are you?”
The real Aquaria couldn’t have been more confused. “Who is this girl? How does she know my name?” she thought. She had to pretend to know her to avoid embarrassment.
“I’m doing great! I missed you!” she said trying her very best to sound comfortable with this situation.
“If you missed me so much you could’ve texted me instead of leaving me on read for months” Brianna said bitterly.
Aquaria felt anxious. She kept thinking this was some kind of cruel joke. But from the expression on the older girls face, she knew it was one hundred percent serious.
Aquaria stood there silently. Unsure on what to do next. There’s no way to fix Brianna’s one sided heartbreak. She snapped herself out of this mindset. She shouldn’t care this much about the feelings of someone she just met. Let alone someone who was rude to her. Brianna stormed off.
Brianna was finally home. After a car ride that felt like hours. She kept replaying what happened in her head. She had to find a way to distract herself. Brianna decided to turn on the TV. “Catfish: The Tv Show” lit up the screen with bolded letters. It all clicked.
She had to confront “Aquaria” there was no way she could let her get away with stealing someone’s identity.
“Hey. I know you’re a catfish. You’re disgusting.” , she sent with confidence.
“Prove it”
AN: Part 2 will come if people want it! I hope you enjoy my first fanfic!
