Today in grading: An alarming number of my students think God asked David to sacrifice Isaac.
I guess I can see where they’re mixing up two bad-things-happen-to-son stories, but still :/
Today in grading; “Henry VIII was a man with two wives.”
Technically: true.
After a frantic week and a half of grading……..my last grade was entered 20 minutes before the deadline……….
Time to collapse ol-<
Today in grading:
The gods made Dido fall in love with Aeneas, and so nothing that happened is his fault. He had no choice. He didn’t choose anything. It was all Venus and Juno, and in no way did Aeneas have anything to do with the fact that he had sex with Dido and lived as her lover for a year. (And he had to leave, because Fate, so it doesn’t matter that he prepared his ships to leave in secret. Dido’s so emotional for getting upset about that.)
- So, so many of my students

Why does this student think Aristotle is a Stoic…where did I go wrong in life…
Teaching philosophy is wild. Multiple students have reported that something they liked about my class is that it made them less afraid of death.
