The new, canon-approved timeline of Elsword (According to Mirror Del dates)

That’s right. New region, new lore and now new timeline. You see, now we know that the Elsword people got a calendar! At least, as far as years and eras are concerned. So far, we don’t know if they’re working with the Gregorian calendar like we do for days and months, but hey, baby steps.

Now, what’s the whole basis of this new timeline? Two dialogues:

With this, we can start piecing some events in Elrios’ history with actual years.

But before we go into it, an important clarification: the Royal Velder Calendar is most likely based on the Elrianode Calendar. Why do I say this? Well, because of the information of the screenshot below, and the fact that if we do the math, the El Explosion doesn’t line up with year zero of the Velder calendar. Not by a long shot.

Since the founders were nobles, you could imagine they kept the old calendar and that it got renamed either by them or at some later point

So, with that in mind, let’s get our chronological events in order

Founding of the Elrian Kingdom — year 0 RVC

So far, the only lore we have is that a General “with the symbol of the sun” was the one to rally people to him and protect others from the darkness and monsters around them. Whether this unnamed general is tied to Solace or to Avarand Solias is yet to be confirmed.

The Great Nasod Wars — after 550 RVC

There were two Nasod Wars, one that started before Adrian, which ended in the El being corrupted, and the one Adrian kinda started, which ended in Adam’s defeat/exile to Altera and Eve’s origins. Nasods were created 550 years after the founding of the Elrian kingdom, So, if the timeline aligns, Eve is the oldest character. She’s most likely close to or over a millennium old. Now, Rena could be older or not, but we have nothing to confirm Rena’s birth year or even begin to estimate it.

The El Explosion — around year 867 RVC

Well, this is the first solid year we have to an important event: Solace’s biggest mist— I mean, Dantelion’s greatest plan against a guy who was totally innocent of all ill-intent. With this date in mind though, we can approximate Noah’s birth year: 852 RVC.

The Cataclysm years — from ~867 RVC to ~1167 RVC

This long period is marked by war, demons everywhere and a desperate attempt by King Melek to kill the demons that are causing a great part of the chaos. Add comes from this time, and, curiously we can know more or less his precise birth year because his lore says he hails from a time period exactly 300 years before the present. That means Add was born on 1067 RVC.

What makes that wild is that, had he not fallen into that hole, and he had survived, somehow, he would’ve been around 80 years old when King Melek is crowned in 1147 RVC. He would have been in his late mid-to-late seventies when the Hero started to go around bringing hope to the world.

The unknown years — from ~1167 RVC to 1367 RVC

From here on, we have no concrete years on what happened where, but the main thing I want to say is that we can estimate Scar’s appearance in Ruben to 1364 RVC. The Velder Civil War happened before that, as did Elkashu’s disappearance, but we have no exact dates for that.

Still, going by the fact Elesis was old enough to fight in the Velder Civil War, then her participation could’ve been around 1360 RVC (she's gotta be old enough to pick a sword and actually fight because her father already believed in her skill, y'know? That's why he brought there and abandoned his son like the good dad he is).

Thus, the start of the Civil War itself was most likely before then. Elkashu got called into it, and although Elkashu wasn't given too much backstory, he also hasn't been directly tied to any known Velder faction, so chances are the fighting was getting bad and they called on him.

As far as Raven lore goes, Seris’ death is still up in the air as is Owen’s betrayal, but the war definitely ended by 1364 because Elesis was back in Ruben 3 years before the start of Elsword's adventure. Thus, Seris had to have died before then and Raven had to also have been taken by the Nasods either around 1364 or before it.

I would hope that Raven got to become a cyborg before 1364 because Adam started his whole plan with the Black Crow and Nasod supremacy to defend humanity from demons and he predicted there was a bigger invasion coming along.

KoG wouldn’t write a reactive bot that just had 3 years or less to build a Nasod army against a demon army, right guys?

Start of Elsword’s adventure — 1,367 RVC

See, we have always been told 500 years passed since the El explosion when the game events starts and so far this hasn’t changed. We just now have a year. So, with that, we have precise birth years for every human character:

Elsword, Lithia and Chung: born 1,354 RVC

Aisha: born 1,352 RVC

Raven and Ciel: born 1,343 RVC

Ara: born 1,350 RVC

Elesis: born 1,351 RVC

With that said, if we take the canonical ages of the 3rd job changes are true, then the current year for the events in the game is: 1,372 RVC. That’s what I used to calculate Lithia’s birth year. Rose’s birth year doesn’t matter because she’s not even from Elrios~

Believe it or not, my headcanon calendar assumed people restarted to count the years after the El Explosion, meaning that would be their year zero. So, it’s nice to know that not only I was wrong but I was wrong in a way I can easily fix and then integrate this knowledge in my future works. Hopefully that helps you guys, too… assuming I’m not the only one writing fics for this game on this platform. But even if I am, this was a fun exercise to do.
