having an unhinged yap about how much missed potential there is in the writing of this series and practically ripping my face off with my head buried so hard in my hands over it

mostly thinking about thematic elements, repetition, and colonialism in the series

i can yap about it more here if anyone cares but like, the tl;dr is very much "i think if kog actually had a cohesive team of writers and a lore bible, as well as thought about the consequences of their writing choices longer than two seconds, we could have a lot of interesting worldbuilding. instead, we don't question why everyone seems to want to upend the strict hierarchy of the world and just keep killing people about it. surely this will solve the problem."
