It was a niam. Where Liam is overally possesive and controlling of Niall, and the other boys try to stop them from dating by talking to Niall because they're worried. Liam overhears the confrontation and starts avoiding Niall making Niall as well as Liam sink into depression and the others realize what they did and try to make things better between the two boys. (It was something like that anyways) :) Xx

Soon after Niall and Liam started dating, Louis, Harry and Zayn started to notice that Liam was being very controlling, more so than usual. Niall wasn't really himself any more. He was what Liam was making him to be. He did what Liam wanted to do and told him they were going to do, he wasn't really given a say in the relationship. 

"Ni, are you happy?" Niall looked up at the three of them standing in front of him. 

"Yeah, of course I'm happy, see" he grinned real wide. The others chuckled. 

"We mean happy with Liam" Niall sat up. 

"Why wouldn't I be happy with him?"

"Well it's just that he's very controlling, it seems like you're not really yourself when you're with him" Louis said trying to say it as gently as possible. But no matter how gently he said it, Liam still heard it from where he had stopped in the hallway, just around the corner when he heard them talking. 

Was he really that controlling? He just thought that Niall and him should spend time together and since Niall could never decide where to go or what to do he just always took charge. He never thought that he wasn't letting Niall be himself, but apparently he was. The thought hurt him, and he decided that from now on he was going to let Niall be himself and the only way he could do that was to stay away from him for a while. 

Niall noticed the next day that Liam was avoiding him. He didn't say one word to him, not a "good morning" or a "hey babe" not even a kiss like normal. He thought that maybe he was just in a bad mood and it would be over by tomorrow and everything would be normal.

But things weren't. The next day was exactly the same. Liam only spoke to him when he had to and he stayed as far away from him as possible. It hurt Niall to see the man he loved ignoring him and making him feel unwanted. Had he done something that made him mad? Did he just not want to be with him anymore? And thoughts like that slowly drove Niall into a sort of depression.

But Liam wasn't much better himself. He hated not being with Niall. He wanted to cuddle him and kiss him, tell him that he loved him and just how amazing he was. But no, that might be controlling and not allowing him to be himself so he still stayed away. But it was making him die inside. Niall was this big ball of energy and light in his life and now that he was gone it was just darkness.

"Do you think this is our fault?" Harry asked the other two as they watched Niall and Liam sink away into their separate rooms not to be seen or heard from until morning, like they had done for the past couple weeks. 

"What do you mean?" Louis asked. 

"They're both clearly depressed, and Niall says Liam's avoiding him and if you watch him he is. It's like Niall has the plague to Liam."

'Well yeah but how is that our fault?" Louis asked. 

"Are you blind Lou?" Zayn asked. "It's pretty obvious that Liam found out or heard our conversation with Niall, that's when this all started. He probably started avoiding him so that he wasn't controlling him anymore"

"But Niall should be happy that he can be himself" Louis said, still not quite understanding the whole situation. Harry sat down beside him. 

"Lou, Niall really does love Liam. And I guess without him he's just not happy" Louis saw it then. Niall loved Liam. Liam did love Niall no matter how controlling he was, and maybe he didn't even realize he had been doing it. And now because of them, the two were miserable. 

"Well then we have to fix this"

They had Niall and Liam sat infront of them. The three boys stood infront of them, ashamed. 

"Niall, Liam we have something to say" Zayn started. 

"We're sorry that we interfered with your relationship. Niall we never should have said that we thought Liam was controlling, it was wrong of us to butt in, we just wanted what was best for you" Niall looked to Liam, their eyes meeting for the first time in a couple weeks. 

"You overheard us didn't you Li?" Harry asked. Liam tore his eyes from Niall's. 

"Yeah, I didn't know that I was doing it. Honestly. I love you Niall, I never meant to make you not yourself" 

"if you love me then why did you completely ignore me?"

"Because, I thought that if I wasn't around you then you could be yourself, without me controlling you" 

"I never thought you were controlling me. I like that you take charge. I didn't know what I had done to make you so mad Li, I thought you hated me"

"Niall I could never hate you" Liam took his hand. "I love you way too much"

"I love you too" they hugged, both shedding a tear or two. 

"We're sorry that we caused all this" Louis said shamefully. 

"No, I'm glad you did, well not the whole depression thing but you made me realize that I had maybe take a little too much charge, from now on Niall you can be who you are and we don't have to do anything you don't want to"

They kissed and just like that everything that had happened over the past couple weeks was fixed. They were happy together, both of them out of their depressions now that the other was back in their lives and Harry, Louis and Zayn learned not to interfere with their relationship.
