To get the look I used @elfcosmeticsuk All Day Stay Eye Primer as a base , @barrymcosmetics Bold Black Eye Kohl around the lashline and upper crease of the eye (blended out) , then I added @illamasqua Iconic Chrome Shadow “Empowered” over the kohl, then applied @beautyblvduk Melisent Glitter Shadow to the entire middle lid. I’ve had a request for a mature friendly #eotd! Granted my eyelid doesn’t totally reflect a mature skin client, but this look can be worn on mature skin and will flatter. As a makeup artist of over 10 years, I honed many tips and tricks which flatter mature clients. Why should you stop having fun with makeup just because your skin has changed ? My advice is to work with it, not against it! Try cream blushes instead of powders, use dewy enhancing skin products and don’t be afraid of colour. This look features matte eyeshadows which don’t sit in the skin of a mature eyelid. Shimmer can enhance wrinkles and I find a matte finish is best - at least on the eyelid. Apply @3ina eye primer all over the lid. Primer is important as it smooths the surface of the eyelid and gives shadow extra longevity. Using a small flat brush then a fluffy blending brush apply a matte soft taupe brown like @elfcosmeticsuk Happy from their Opposites Attract Palette over the entire lower lid and eye crease and blend. Then add a warm toned deep matte brown like Elf Cosmetics Warm to the crease of the eye and blend . Add a warm matte highlighter like Fresh to the middle of the eyelid and blend. This needs to be lighter than your other two shades. Instead of using gel liquid or pencil eyeliner try using a small pointer brush with a bit of the the deep warm brown eyeshadow applied close to the lash line. Once you have a rough line dip the brush in @illamasqua sealing gel to deepen the effect. Using a separate small firm brush apply the same warm tone on the lower lash line halfway across and blend. Curl lashes with @eylureofficial Full Lash Curlers to give the eyelid a bright eyed look and apply a swipe of Elf Plump It Up mascara to the top lash line only.
