Elftober #29 - Magic
But of course we bards know a little magic of our own! How our songs stir not just the hearts but also the spirits of our comrades, spurring them to greater strength! We, too, can cause changes in the aether as much as any mage. If you haven't noticed, then you haven't been listening!
Elftober - 28: Sunset
The sun was beginning to set behind the trees and hills of the Shroud, and Yorina decided to rest for a few moments, listening to the autumn wind in the treetops and the excited chirping of the few birds that had not yet departed for warmer areas. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and was enjoying the late afternoon in the Lavender Beds when an all-too-familiar voice drew her attention again.
"Yorina..? Is that you?" a warm, melodic female voice asked.
The addressed opened her eyes and looked up at the woman who had approached her. Her voice alone had told her who was coming toward her, but now she saw her. Ilmie, a young woman from Ishgard who had worked at Borel Manor for quite a while until she had made a stupid mistake and Yorina had kicked her out as a result. Ilmie had learned from her mistake and there was no more bad blood between the two Elezen. Still, they rarely saw each other these days.
Yorina gave her a rare smile as she greeted her: "Ilmie, hello. Didn't expect to see you here."
The blonde Elezen chuckled: "Well I live here since months, remember? So, I guess I have a right to be here. Other than you, hm?"
"Yeah, right." Yorina answered amused, now pointing to the harp her friend held in her hands. "On your way to a performace?"
Ilmie noded: "Yes, indeed. There is a party in one of the adventurer's houses here and they have hired us to play music for a few hours. Guydelot should already be there... at least I hope he is. Otherwise I have to start the show alone... again..."
She wasn't really upset, Yorina could tell by the sound of her voice, but there was maybe a hint of frustration in it. But she did not get to speak out her thoughts. Ilmie continued speaking.
"And I really should go now... not that I am the on being late today. Would love to chat with you a little bit more, but I am really in a hurry. Maybe tomorrow? Beakfast at Miounes?"
Yorina noded: "I'd love to, yes. 10 in the morning?"
"Let's say 11, okay?" She turned to rush away, looked back. "Sorry to be so curt, but..."
Yorina cut her off. "I know. You have a performance to do. See you tomorrow. 11 in the morning. I'll be there."
