Moments from my showing of The Outsiders Musical that I can't stop thinking about in no particular order:

Soda cradling Ponyboy with his head in his chest, rocking back and forth slightly
Marcia trying to get to Cherry as the other Soc's blame her for Bob's going after Pony and Johnny but her arm is caught every single time
Soda bending down to comfort Darry during "Throwing In The Towel", tipping his chin up BROOOO 😭😭😭
"I NEED you, Darrell! I can't lose my big brother too!" - through TEARS
Darry's absolutely broken expression after the fight with Dally, and the way he immediately drops to his knees even before Dally leaves
"500 PAGES?! that would take me a year to read." 😂 and the way Pony playfully slapped him afterwards
Ace sitting in Darry's lap after the rumble
Two-Bit's gutteral scream as the Soc's burn him with a cigarette
Marcia being physically separated from Two-Bit, they had to DRAG my girl away
Darry losing control of himself and practically breaking down trying to get through to Pony Dan Berry!Darry my beloved
After Darry hit Pony, Johnny jumped back and flinched 😭😭 my sweet boy
The way Darry tried to be intimidating, but given that he and Dally are the same height, it didn't quite land
Cherry flinching away when Bob screams at her to get in the car. Her little side step backward, and the way her breath froze in her chest
The church fire, the pyrotechnics were ELITE
The way I COULD SEE John's teeth shining when he smiled that Soda smile of his
Soda's entire vibe during "Runs in The Family Reprise"
Sodapop "trying to keep this fucking family together" Curtis BEGGING his brothers to stop fighting.
^^ speaking of which, his ANGUISHED voice as he says it. Bro WAS SOBBING
I just wanna hug Sodapop tbh
Darry's absolutely gut wrenching delivery of "Throwing in the Towel" his voice broke on every line
The HUSH that fell over the theatre when Dally came put carrying Johnny
The slow blooming of blood underneath Bob's ribs, building slowly until the lights finally came up on his bloody body over the fountain
The Soc girls singing backup in "Little Brother"
One of the Soc girls got in a few licks on Two-Bit so... yay? gender equality? I guess ?
The line switch (intentional or not) of "that right there is Johnny Cade, my best friend in the whole world."
Darry's "once a greaser, ALWAYS a greaser." 🥹 and hugging all of them in turn
Darry letting Soda hold him + Sobbing into his chest the way Ponyboy would later
Johnny's being the one to run away with Pony after the Slap, bro dragged him out of that house
The glazed, dazed look in Dally's eyes. "They took the only thing that mattered to me anyhow."
Two Bit and the Ace stuck/hiding under the bench Cherry and Marcia are sitting on at the Drive-In
"We lost Mom and we lost Dad and nothing is ever gonna make that okay."
The look of DISGUST Cherry shot Dally during "Friday at the Drive-In."
Ace's "I love you, Superman!" And Darry's head turn and smile back at her.
Cherry's subtle costume change after Jonny dies. She still has her skirt and heels, but her hair is pulled back in a braid, and she has a little white crop top on, reminiscent of Ace's look. She's from both worlds now.
Ace petting Ponyboy's hair and holding his back against her chest as Johnny dies
Dally choking back tears even as he admonished Johnny for dying, poking his finger into his chest with every punctuation
Dally was never gentle, not until Johnny died, and then he was so tender with him, cradling the back of his neck and holding him for a moment too long before letting go
Cherry ON HER KNEES as she begs Ponyboy not to fight. Sweet Emma rocking back on her heels as if trying to decide if she should move closer or away
"Did you hear me? ... i said I love you..." 💔
Darry going limp as soon as Ponyboy starts wailing on him, like Dan put up no type of resistance, and Soda struggled to pull them apart.
Darry and Pony flinching away from Soda and the way he looked up at us, the audience, for just a second before starting to cry on his line "It's tearing me apart" 😭
Dan's voice cracking on "Soda... i'm really a mess."
The crestfallen look on Soda's face when Darry hits the floor in front of the car/bed/whatever, like all the fight and strength, has been taken from him. And Darry refusing to even look at Soda throughout his verse
The way it slowly dawns on Soda that he has to fix this thing for Darry and not knowing how. John kept stepping forward and then back again.
Dan!Darry was trying to angle his head/eyes to meet Eli's when Pony's head is buried in Johnny's clothes 😭
Darry crying in the background of 'Tulsa 67 Finale' contrasted with the way Soda is just sitting there, frozen was funny to me
Ponyboy nodding at Johnny when Soda says "Ps. Say hey to Johnny for us." And Johnny's mystified look and shy smile in response. Like he couldn't fathom being remembered because no one wrote him a letter or anything.
The subtle implication that maybe Johnny's mom didn't pick up his stuff because his dad had killed her, especially with the way Emma played it.
Neither Darry nor Soda turned to greet Cherry when she came by the house to drop Johnny's things off.
Soda struggling to get through reading Johnny's letter because bro is choking back tears
Darry folding the same pair of jeans three times
The blanket low-key falling off the car when John turned it to the bed, lmao I love live theatre. You could see him double back and try to fix it 👌🏼😂
