One of the many,often temporary,passion of Sisi were monkeys. 🐒 She managed to obtain to have her own monkey at court for a couple of times. The first one was a male and,as ironically Sisi's son Rudolf wrote, he was dispensed from service for inappropriate behaviour,especially in front of ladies. Sisi was not discouraged in her love for monkeys from this only experience. She kept to the fact the little Marie Valerie spent time with them too. She only expressed the desire to have a female monkey next time, with the thought she would have behaved better.
