Gang. I'm gonna be honest with you: an author writing about a certain subject does not mean they support it in real life. Or will do such a thing.
Especially when the book is from certain points of view, like the villain. Just because they wrote a dark character doesn't mean they support it. Oh my god.
I have personally written one of my OCs getting tortured because he is literally an agent for the government that was kidnapped. That shit happens. The thought of torture makes me ill man. I'd never wish that on anybody, but it happens.
Please. Please just understand this. I beg of you.
Of course, there's nuance about the romanticism of abuse and dark materials, but I'm not talking about that for now. Mostly because I am not really good at thinking that far, and I just wanted to rant.
