Musical Zingt 90′s
Ok, finally found time to write a small review for the ‘musical sings 90′s’ thing I went to on March 24.
First of all: Elke Buyle, you can sing girl! Darn, what a voice!
1 moment in tears: during “When you believe” from the Prince of Egypt. It is probably risky to say but I’m gonna do this anyway. I loved this version better than the original by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. *ducks away*
It started out great already with Goele De Raedt and then came Elke Buyle, to join her and there was so much chemistry. Their voices blended beautifully. I had goosebumps all over.
I loved the small jokes they made. Such as during MMMBop when the boys sang “ And when you get old and start losing your hair” and pointing to Jan Schepens.
When the girls came on as Spice Girls I think they could have done more effort to look like them. I know they were only 3 but now it was kinda guessing who was who. I think they could have played more with that.
The 10 Om Te Zien medley was great as well. I grew up with the cd’s and went to a couple of shows so it were great memories. And the tv shows they brought back by singing the title track! OMG! Amazing how many people remember the moment they had to clap their hands while they sang the Friends song I’ll be there for you. And Pokémon, and The Nanny!
I thought it brave of Ann Van den Broeck to take on “I will always love you”. And I love her voice so much. So it’s with pain in my heart I say this, but her version of the song was not what it should be. But that was the only song where she was a bit late to the music. She can do much better. I heard her sing “Don’t cry for me Argentina”, so I know what she can do. The other ones she did were amazing. <3 Gosh that voice <3 And she looked pretty in those clothes <3
