Pairing: Eve x fem!reader
Sunday, another day at the lab for Ella. Another day of running fingerprints and scans for the case that Lucifer and Chloe got yesterday, good thing she got y/n by her side to help her.
Everything got a little bit easier when y/n was transferred from Vegas to LA 5 months ago. Even working on Sunday was easier when she have her.
"Good morning Ella!" Y/n exclaimed entering the small lab the two of them shared. With two hot choco drinks in hand, she went to Ella and give her one of the drinks.
"Good morning to you too y/n. You look like you had a great morning." Ella snickered as she drink the hot choco that her partner gave to her.
"I did!" She said as went to her table to get the files she needed to help Ella with the case.
"By the way, how's the case? After pulling an all nighter for this one, I'm sure you had some progress." Y/n declared as she arranged the photos of the crime scene at the table to investigate.
"Actually, only one of the two fingerprints were recognized by the system, unfortunately it was the victim. The other one? No trace. Like seriously, no records, criminal or health ones, even a parking ticket. We're practically dealing with a ghost." Ella babbled as she took another look at the failed fingerprint report.
Y/n looked at Ella and saw the anxiety in her eyes. She wasn't expecting that, Ella was always optimistic in times like these.
"How bout we check the crime scene again using these photos? maybe we'll see things that we missed?" Y/n suggested to Ella to try being optimistic.
Ella looked at her, smiling at her gesture, "Okay!" She giggled.
While y/n is looking at the crime scene photos layed at the table, Ella remembered something that she wanted to know about y/n. She thought that, y/n's thoughtfulness can be her advantage in knowing this information she wants. Yes, it's like an evil plan but she really wanted to know.
She wants to know who y/n's crush is, y/n has been keeping it to her for a long time now because she's afraid Ella might tease her.
And this time, Ella is gonna take this opportunity to know..
"Y/n?" She asked as she stand beside y/n.
y/n, who was busy looking at the photos answered, "What?"
Ella leaned at the table blocking y/n from looking at the photos, "You don't like your friend lonely right?" she blurted. Y/n glanced at her confused about the question, "Yes?" she hesitated but divert her attention to the photos once again.
"So you'll do anything to make your friend happy?" Ella continued as she played with her fingers.
Y/n had enough of what was happening, "Cut the crap and tell me what you need." she demanded as she finally looked at Ella.
"I'll be happy if you finally tell me who your crush is." Ella jabbered as she took y/n's hands to hold them.
"That's it?" Y/n smirked as she removed her hands from Ella and took the cup of hot choco to sips some. "Well yeah! You need to tell me or else I'll be very very sad." Ella mocked as she made a sad face.
Y/n sighed, "okay." she agreed as she sat at the chair, "But you need to promise me that you wont tell anyone." she continued.
"Promise." Ella assured raising her right hand to make sure to y/n that she won't tell anyone.
She was so excited that finally she will know who the lucky one is, but at the same time she was scared that it might not be the one she was expecting to. She was rooting Eve for y/n because of how a mess y/n was when Eve was around. The last time she was at the station, y/n was all over the place. She was dropping things ''accidentally'', always trying to brag about something and then failing to do so, also Eve was always flirting with her thats why she shipped the two.
At that moment, she knew that y/n and Eve is perfect together because well she just knows. She started to tease
y/n with Eve, she thought that maybe that was the reason that y/n no longer wants to tell her who she likes.
"okay.. so the one that I like is--" the door opened and they were interrupted by Chloe who came in without even knocking.
"Oh.. im sorry." She said while walking towards Ella with a folder in her hand, "There's something I need to inform you about." She continued as she opens the folder.
Y/n chimed in and also looked at the files that were in the folder, "We found another evidence at the crime scene, it was a fingernail." Chloe explained as she point at the picture that they took at the part of the crime scene where the fingernail was. Y/n took the picture from Chloe and looked at it very hard.
"YES! A more compelling evidence! We need to run test immediately!" Ella exclaimed for finally there will be a break in the case.
"But where's the fingernail?" Y/n asked while holding the picture. Ella who was celebrating, stopped immediately and looked at Chloe.
"Oh god. It was with Lucifer." Chloe trembled, "But is he supposed to be tugging along with you?" y/n asked as she place the picture at the table. Chloe took her phone and tried to dial Lucifer. Ella was leaning at the table massaging her head because of all the happenings, the one thing that will help the case to move along was with Lucifer and he was nowhere to be found.
"Is someone looking for a fingernail?" a voice said. Chloe, Ella and y/n looked at where the voice was coming from. It was Eve at the door holding the zip lock where the fingernail was placed.
Y/n was shocked that Eve was there, its been a long time since she last saw the girl in the station. Ella who was glancing at y/n, saw the stunned face she was making and smiled.
Now, even though y/n never told her who she likes, she knows that it's Eve.
Eve walked towards y/n giving her the zip lock, she smiled at her and winked. She looked at Chloe, "I'm sorry, Lucifer took off. He said that I should give the fingernail to the one I trust in the lab." She babbled while smiling at Chloe.
She glanced at y/n, smirking at her. "We. Need to talk." Chloe snapped as she holds Eve's arms and took her outside the Lab closing the door behind.
Ella who was smiling the whole time, stand besides y/n who was busy examining the fingernail. "Lemme guess, the person you were about to say was the person who gave you that." She guessed as she point the zip lock, they looked at each other.
Y/n sighed, "of course, you knew." She said in defeat as Ella jumped in joy for finally her ship was sailing. "Tell her how you feel!" She yelled as she took the ziplock at y/n.
"No. " Y/n said as she tried to take the zip lock from Ella, "No, you need to tell her how you feel because it will be worth it and romantic and cute and-" Ella was interrupted by y/n getting the zip lock back from her, she continued daydreaming about the two of them.
"Its a no Lopez. I have no chance with the lady." Y/n repeated while wearing the gloves to start running a test to the fingernail, Ella stopped and glared at her. She walked towards y/n and hold both of her arms, "You don't even know that because you didn't even asked her!" She scoffed.
Y/n removed Ella's hands and started to run the tests, "You think you don't have a chance? then why did she wink at you and tell you she trust you and then proceeded to flirt with you the whole time?" She sneered at y/n as she took a set of gloves to help her run the test.
The whole time they were doing the test, no one was talking. Y/n thought maybe Ella dont want to talk to her for being so negative. She looked at her seeing her frowning while focus at the getting the DNA in the fingernail, "You want me to confess to her?" she asked. Ella didn't answer and was focused at the fingernail
"Okay. Ill do it." She said while removing her gloves. Ella stopped and dropped the forceps, "Really? You will?" She asked looking at her with a smile on her face. "You told me I might have a chance and besides, If I get rejected its not a big deal." y/n answered as she drop the gloves at the trash.
"Nope. Cant fool me y/n. Its a big deal." Ella remarked as she continued looking at y/n, "And im sure it wont happen." She reassured, "She likes you, that im sure." She continued. Y/n looked at her and smiled, "Wish me all the luck Ella." She opened the door and walked out
"Go y/n!! I know you can do it!" Ella cheered as y/n walked towards Chloe's table, y/n thought that maybe Eve is there. When she was able to see Chloe's table, she saw that no one was around, maybe they took of somewhere.
"I should go back. I need to help Ella." She said to herself as she turned around looking at the floor.
"Are you looking for Chloe?" Someone asked, she looked at where the voice was coming from, it was from Eve who was in front of her. She looked at y/n confusingly for she wasn't answering. "Are you looking for her?" She repeated.
"She took off to find Lucifer, she told me to stay here so I did." Eve continued for y/n wasn't saying something.
Y/n froze and wasn't sure how to tell her what she feels, she can't even looked at her in the eyes. What if she get rejected when she confessed? What if Ella was wrong and that Eve likes Lucifer and not some random girl she just flirts with constantly.
"Are you okay y/n?" Eve asked as she was concern, she might have broken the poor lady with all the flirting she did earlier.
Y/n snapped from her trance and looked at Eve, its now or never. She will confess or she will look weird if she took off and left her here standing.
"I need to tell something-"
"To Chloe? I told you she's not here" Eve interjected.
"No no. Not to Chloe." y/n said, nervous.
Eve looked at her, more confusingly, "To who?" she asked
Eve's face turned from confused to shocked, "Me?" she exclaimed.
"I didn't do anything." She explained, y/n laughed at this remark.
"Actually you did." She smirked. Eve was looking more scared than ever,
"What did I do good lord?" Eve trembled.
"You.. made me like you." y/n said.
Eve looked at y/n in the eyes, for a few second it was silence.
Y/n thought that "This is it. Im gonna get rejected and Ella is gonna be sad and I'm gonna be sad and i'll never gonna looked at Lucifer the same ever again because I just got rejected by the woman who was head over heels to him a few months back. "
Eve smiled at her, "You made me like you too." Y/n looked at her, confused whether she heard the right thing or if she was dreaming then suddenly, Eve's lips was pressed to her lips. Good thing it was Sunday, no officers was at the station to see this glorious moment. Except Ella who was sneaking at them the whole time and fangirling for finally she was right, Eve likes y/n.
