Ella and 1, 4, 5, 11, 13, 15, 18 (this is a lot bUT IT WAS HARD TO PICK OKAY I WANTED TO SEND THEM ALL)
Send me a character + a number and I’ll tell you my headcanons for:
1. Their physical weak spots
Her neck is definitely a weak spot of hers. Charlie brazenly uses it to his advantage, knowing he’s more likely to sway her to agree with him if he kisses her there.
4. Best places to kiss on their body
Charlie would adamantly argue that every spot deserves his attention, but her neck and her thighs have his favourite reactions.
5. Guilty pleasures
Whipped cream, though she’s not really that guilty about it. It depends what she puts it on.
11. Bad or petty habits
Making Charlie make food for her instead of learning how to better cook herself.
13. What gets them flustered
Overly sexual comments. Growing up in a small town, Ella had a sheltered upbringing, so it tends to take her aback when others aren’t so reserved. She probably should’ve picked a less unashamed boyfriend.
15. What it takes to make them cry
While she’s outwardly composed, she’s hurt by unkind comments. It’s those closest to her that can really hurt her the most; taking advantage of her compassionate nature, especially since she doesn’t trust so easily anymore.

Probably her mother. When Ella and Lola first met, Ella was still hurt and angry and processing that grief – the girls actually bonded over their dead parents. That kind of pain doesn’t go away overnight.
9. Humiliating memories
Oh gosh, Ella would probably have a lot of these. Well, not humiliating moments but moments where she’s embarrassed herself.
14. Ingrained habits/forces of habit
Maybe her manners? It takes a lot for Ella to speak rudely to someone, even if they’re annoying as hell, and that’s probably because she was raised to be polite and respectful.
22. People who’ve influenced them greatly
Her family, for obvious reasons. She’s still close to her remaining family members and they’ve always seemed really supportive. Skye, her best friend, who was by her side through a lot of shitty times. Charlie, who she loves despite the terrible haircut, and serves as a bit of a muse for Ella’s music.
Send 📱 for five texts my muse didn’t send yours, and one that they did
1. I don’t know why you forgave me for liking Charlie. If our roles were reversed, I don’t think I could have done the same thing. 2. Charlie’s my best friend but sometimes I think you deserve better. I feel terrible even thinking that but I hate seeing you sad. 3. Promise you won’t forget me, even when you become more famous than any of us can even imagine. 4. Sometimes I wonder if you’d still be my friend if you knew about the last time Charlie and I kissed. I feel guilty that it’s still a secret. 5. One of your cats is way cuter than the other. +1. I saw the new music video - you’ve kicked ass as always! Looking and sounding amazing, love.
send 👀 for the moment my muse realized they’re in love with yours.
Disorientation flooded him when his eyes fluttered open. Forsomeone who too often fell asleep in strange places, it shouldn’t have beensurprising for him when he woke up now, and yet all he could think as he rubbedhis eyes was “Where am I?” He didn’tremember crawling into bed, but he must’ve, since he had a pillow tucked underhis head and a blanket draped over him. But he still had all his clothes onfrom earlier in the day, and this mattress was awfully hard. What time was it?When had he gone home from Ella’s? Last he recalled he was lying on her floorwith a book open, despite the pair of them knowing well that he wasn’t going tostudy, that he was just going to watch her, talk to her, distract her. Hemust’ve… Oh. There was his book, now closed, resting a metre or so away fromhim. He hadn’t left at all.
Now that he listened, he could hear the tell-tale strum of aguitar and gentle mumbling of incomplete lyrics that could only mean he’dfallen asleep in his girlfriend’s dorm. Girlfriend– the word still felt new to him, ridiculously. She wasn’t his first, wasn’texpected to keep him entertained for long, but ever since they’d kissed on thatplayground in LA she had begun unravelling something inside of him, a feelinghe didn’t understand but he knew meant something. It had to.
Charlie lay there on the floor for a little while, keepinghimself tucked into the makeshift bed Ella had made for him after he’d crashed. No one had done that for him before. He smiled softly to himself, wondering howhe’d managed to find someone who actually cared.
When he sat up, he saw Ella sitting on her bed, lost in whatshe was doing. He stayed quiet, admiring the way her blonde curls curtained herface as she scribbled something down on the notebook in front of her. One ofthe things he’d found was that he enjoyed just looking at her. It was more thanjust because he found her beautiful – she was fascinating. He liked noticinglittle things about her, something he normally never did with anyone else. Itwas different to want to spend so much time with one person. It was a littlescary, if he was honest.
“Oh, hey,” Ellasmiled when she glanced up and saw him watching her. “Did you have a nice nap?”
“I did, thanks to you,” he replied gracefully, giving her alazy smile in return. “What are you working on?”
“It’s nothing…”she insisted, shyness kicking in. As much as he wanted to help her push thataside, Charlie couldn’t deny he thought it was sweet, different to theself-assured girls he was used to being around. There was so much more to herthan she saw in herself, and at some point he’d unconsciously decided that hewanted to show her that.
“Will you play it for me? Please?”
“It’s not finishedyet…”
“Pleeeeeeeease?”
Ella seemed unsure, but as Charlie crawled up onto her bedwith her, ruffling his fringe and looking gentler than how everyone else normallysaw him with sleepiness still lacing his veins, she couldn’t say no.
“Fine,” sherelented as he settled cross-legged in front of her. “This is what I’ve got so far.”
Charlie sat intently as she started to play a few chords forhim, her gaze down on the notebook between them, a convenient way out of havingto look directly at him and see a reaction she didn’t want. He, on the otherhand, couldn’t keep his eyes off her.
Every time he heard her play, it was something special. Heloved her voice – had they not known each other and he heard one of her songson the radio, he was sure he would instantly be a fan. She really had a gift,in both her voice and her song writing. She really knew how to capture emotion, and what she was working on now was a perfect example.
As she sang the part that she’d written so far, he had alittle selfish but mostly hopeful moment of “Is this about me?” He liked the idea of being her muse, as unexpected as it was. This whole thing between them was so unanticipated – how had he found someone who he wanted all to himself, who hewanted to be all theirs? – and yet it thrilled him. Ella was so different andit excited him to be the one who got to learn all about her and show hereverything. He wasn’t stringing her along just to get in her pants like somepeople thought – he wanted this.Being in a serious relationship terrified him – he was so fucking scared ofscrewing it up and hurting someone so sweet – but it wasn’t the huge sacrificehe’d convinced himself it would be. It was shaping up to be one of the bestdecisions he’d made; she was the best person he’d ever met.
So while all of that led up to a logical conclusion of howhe truly felt about her, Charlie was yet to join the dots between hisuncharacteristic butterflies around her and his complete admiration andadoration of everything Ella was.
Until now.
Oh yes, he’d been so crazy oblivious (or just inexperienced)that he didn’t realise that what he was feeling was love until Ella happened todrop the word in one of her lines. His stomach flipped and his expressionchanged as it all suddenly started to make sense. He loved her. He loved her, god,he loved her – she was so smart andbeautiful and talented and fun and innocent and so unlike him and she made himso so happy. She paid attention tohim in a way that no one else ever had, looked at him like he was more thanjust an attractive guy who didn’t know how to do anything other than flirt hisway into random girls’ bedrooms. She made him feel like he could be more thanthat; she encouraged him to be better. It didn’t matter at all that they hadn’tslept together yet – that only proved it more. He wasn’t just in it for thoseelated moments of intimacy – he was in it for her. Charlie had never understood how she had such an intenseeffect on him but now it was obvious. It was love.
In his revelation he’d changed how he was looking at her,and when Ella finished what she’d come up with so far she immediately assumedit was for a bad reason.
“What...?” she asked warily, Charlie’s piercing green eyes staringher down as he grasped how full of love his heart really was.
“Ella, I…” He trailed off; the words were there, but hecouldn’t get them out. He panicked, questioning whether she felt the same. Hedidn’t want to say it and have her not reciprocate; Charlie Styles wasn’t oftenrejected, but when he was he really didn’t take it well. The last thing hewanted was to scare her off. (Ridiculous, when you considered what his firstwords to her were.)
Tucking her hair behind her ear, he gently ran his fingersdown her jaw and took a safe yet still completely honest way out: “I thinkyou’re very talented.”
Ella smiled, glancing down shyly – if only she knew how muchthat only made him feel it more. “Thanksfor saying that,” she said softly, and as he reached for her guitar she lethim take it and set it aside. He shuffled up beside her, arm sliding around hersmall waist. She leaned into him, laughing as he suddenly laid back and pulledher down with him. He loved that sound. (!!)
Holding her close, Charlie gave her a kiss, hoping the “Ilove you” that was written on his lips made sense to her. He would keep kissingher until it did; actions were easier for him than words. Little did he knowthat he’d already been showing her that was how he felt for a while now, likehow after a little while of trying to communicate the words on his lips, hepolitely asked if he could stay the rest of the night, respectfully looked awayafter offering her his shirt to sleep in and made sure she was okay with himgetting more comfortable without his jeans on. He could’ve tried to pressureher into anything once they were tucked up under her covers, but as he spoonedher the most he did was place a light kiss on her neck and rub her thighharmlessly. He always had to make sure she was at ease with everything theywere doing.
“Ella?” he whispered a little later, unsure whether she wasstill awake to hear anything he had to say in his drifting off state.
She was, though, and she breathed a tired, “Yeah?”
“You’re my best friend,” he said, unaware of how much thatreally revealed.
Ella might’ve; she smiled gently, “You’re mine, too.”
Charlie nuzzled against her, sighing contentedly. He’d finda way to tell her outright sometime, but for now it was in everything else hedid, all just for her.
☔: my muses reaction to opening their front door and seeing yours drenched in rain
Mel was cursing up a storm when she got out of her bedroom on the second floor of the house. Someone had been pounding on the door for almost 15 minutes, and one of the pledges, a girl named Jess, was scared to open it. “There’s someone out there!” she told Mel, who snarled in return. “Of course there is. Who else would be banging?” she snapped back, going down the stairs with the girl.
Mel tried to turn on the hallway light but it didn’t light up. “Fuck.” she muttered, figuring that the storm had knocked the power out. She walked up to the door and heard pounding again. This time she puffed herself out, and motioned for Jess to stand back. Mel grabbed the hidden knife next to the door before opening it.
“Ella?” she asked, putting the knife down as she saw the dripping wet blonde outside. “Jesus I nearly stabbed you.” she said, laughing slightly, when she noticed Ella’s face. “El? What’s wrong?” she asked, before turning around and yelling at the pledge to grab a towel when Ella didn’t reply. She got out in the rain and wrapped herself around Ella, protecting her from the rain and pushing her inside.
Jess ran over with a towel as Mel shut the door. She grabbed the towel and started to dry off Ella. “Thanks Jess. Go back to sleep. I got it.” she said dismissively, before wiping off Ella’s face. “Oh baby girl, what happened to you?” she asked softly, looking Ella in the eyes. “...Lets get you in my room. I have some clothes that will fit you.”
