Zoe laid on Nicky’s bed, book in hand as she patiently waited for the boy to get out of the shower so they could spend the day together. Her eyes scanned over the pages rapidly as she was completely checked out of reality, her mind completely engrossed by the words that were flawlessly typed on each page. A few minutes later, a faint sound pulled her out of her concentration, making her shift her focus away from the novel. Within seconds, she realized that the sound happened to be Nicky, he was singing- quite incredibly in fact. She was surprised at just how beautiful his voice was, he said he could play guitar, but he never said he could sing. It was smooth and strong, it made goose bumps spread all over her skin and butterflies erupt in her stomach. Zoe already started to think of ways to get him to sing for her again, not wanting this to be the last time she heard his voice. When she heard the water turn off, she tried to get back into her book, but failing since Nicky consumed her every thought. Pretending to read as the boy shuffled out of the bathroom with wet hair and dry clothes, she glanced up at him and smiled warmly. “You know, I still haven’t heard you play your guitar yet. You should play me something,” she shrugged with a small grin, much too eager to wait. All Zoe wanted to do was sit in his room and listen to him strum his guitar and sing, it comforted the brunette in a way. “Pretty please?” she innocently asked, giving him her best puppy eyes.
