GALLAGHER, ELLEN (Estados Unidos, 1965) 

Se dedica principalmente a la pintura y el mixed media ya que entre su obra aparecen trabajos sobre papel con diferentes medios, vídeos y pinturas. Es una obra de denuncia y se centra sobretodo en el tema racial. Previamente a su carrera como artista, trabajó como pescadora y carpintera.

Ha expuesto tanto individualmente como en grupo en grandes museos. Su obra presenta un carácter minimalista a la vez que abstracto.

Gallagher and Höller The Absent Museum, April 20, 2017 - News at Gagosian

"The Absent Museum" at WIELS, Contemporary Art Centre, Brussels, Belgium, closes this Sunday, August 13. To mark its tenth anniversary, Wiels presents a large-scale exhibition across three venues. The show outlines a substantive framework for a possible future museum of contemporary art in the capital of Europe. The exhibition is both a look backward at the journey that Wiels has made so far and an exploration of its future development. Works by Ellen Gallagher and Carsten Höller are on view.
