.𖥔 ݁ ˖𓂃. “You can’t lose something you never had.” —How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days 𓂃⊹
When Ellie steps back into the house, the energy has shifted. There’s way more people now, large groups of strangers taking up the space of your foyer and living room. She has no idea where any of her friends are, including her closest one, which might be a good thing.
There’s music blasting from the speakers beside the tv, the sound of chatter and Mo bamba mixing into a terrible headache. She looks around for anyone she may recognize, Dina, Jesse, you.
You.
She needs to find you. She scratches the back of her neck, stepping farther into the living room. Her eyes search through the waves of strangers for anyone resembling you. She needs to apologize, to explain herself.
“S’cuse me, sorry.” She mutters, squeezing between two very drunk blondes. They don't even really notice her, slurring out laughs at whatever the other was saying. She glances down at her phone, it’s only ten.
There’s people funneling in and out of the back door, nursing bottles and cups galore. The kitchen is already trashed, the counter sticky with spilled alcohol, cups falling over the island as people struggle to keep track of them.
Ellie quickly scopes out the backyard, eyes shifting from body to body as she searches for you. When she fails to locate you again, she steps back into the house and shuts the door behind her.
She quickly dodges the greetings from a group of semi-strangers passing around a joint in the house and books it for the stairs, climbing them two steps at a time.
There’s less people upstairs, still a crowd, but less than the first floor. A few people are in line for the bathroom, talking amongst themselves as the sink runs in the background. There’s another guy hanging out the window, a bong in his hand as he lurches onto the grass.
Your bedroom door is shut tight, no signs of life coming from the inside. Your brother's room, however, is inviting. The door is slightly ajar, a gentle light leaking from in between the door and the wall.
There’s a few people lingering around the area, backs against the wall next to his room. Ellie smiles curtly before reaching for the do for handle, slipping inside the room and shutting the door.
You aren't there, and neither is your brother. Ellie’s heart drops to her feet when she notices Cat sitting on the bed, holding your brother's blue bong to her lips.
“The fuck?” Ellie pauses, keeping her hand on the doorknob. Cat quickly inhales the smoke, rolling her eyes at Ellie as she stands. She blows the smoke in Ellie’s face before walking towards the door.
Ellie keeps her hand on the doorknob, stopping the black haired girl from getting any closer to the door. “What?” Cat asks, crossing her arms.
“Can you fucking leave?” Ellie spits, eyebrows furrowed as she speaks.
Cat gestures to the door, bracelets jingling as her arm moves. “I would, but—” She chuckles condescendingly.
“You’ve got a lot of nerve coming back here. What the fuck is wrong with you?” Ellie sneers, the questions is obviously rhetorical, an insult instead of a genuine inquiry.
“I don't know why you’re tryna argue with me right now, Ellie. I don’t owe you shit.” She retorts.
Ellie laughs, “Okay? Neither do I, but clearly that's made you feel some sort of way.” She can tell Cat’s getting angrier with her, dropping her arms from over her chest as she crosses her eyebrows.
Ellie continues when Cat fails to respond. “Why the fuck would you do that? You’re mad that I ended things with you so you come here and lie like that?”
“Oh please, Ellie. It’s not a fucking lie and you know it.” Cat rolls her eyes. “You wanted to fuckin’—have your cake and eat it too, and when it didnt work for you, you started being shady!” She professes.
Ellie shakes her head, pinching the bridge of her nose. She pulls her hand off the doorknob, the two of them now fully immersed in the argument.
“Where do you get off on making shit up?! I don’t want you. And that hurt your fucking feelings, so you had to go and ruin everything for everyone else. Like the selfish bitch you are.” Ellie is bordering on yelling now, her voice rising with each sentence.
“Stop trying to play the victim. You decided to fuck two girls at once and now you have to face the repercussions of that.” Cat scoffs. “Furthermore—She’s your best friend's sister! You’re so fucking weird for that.”
Ellie’s eyes widen at the mention of you.
“It’s not really that weird, Cat. I don’t know what to tell you.” Ellie shakes her head, pressing her lips into a thin line as Cats face grows hotter.
“Why her? She’s not your type at all!” Cat yells, throwing her arms to the side. Her nonchalant girl facade was slowly fading.
Ellie raises an eyebrow, “As opposed to? You?” She laughs, “I don't have a type, hop off.’ Ellie admits, but when she says it, there's only one face that crosses her mind.
“O-Kay, Ellie. As if she’s not just looking for attention. She’s weird. And clearly delusional if she thinks—”
“Oh my god, Cat. Shut up.” Ellie rolls her green eyes. She runs a stressed hand down her face, sighing under her breath as the other girl continues to ramble.
“Are you serious right now, Ellie?! You’re not even gonna say anything to me?” Cat puts her hands onto her hips, cocking her head to the side. She’s clearly mad that Ellie isn't feeding into her, or whatever girls like her tend to get mad at.
“Yeah, why wouldn't I be? Why the fuck would I be standing here telling you to leave if I wasnt? Use your head.” Ellie points to her head, tapping herself on the temple twice. Cat scoffs, crossing her arms once again.
Ellie reaches for the doorknob, tugging on it with a newfound aggression. She points out into the hallway.
“Really? You’re choosing her over me?” Cat scoffs, a satirical smile pulling at the sides of her mouth as she silently degrades you. She looks Ellie up and down without moving her head, and Ellie makes a point of dramatically doing the same.
“Uhh—yeah? She’s not an evil, selfish, cunt like you are. So…” She trails off for a moment, taking amusement in the anger building in Cat's eyes. “And I actually like her, so. Bye,” Ellie pulls her lips into a tight line, waving right in Cat's face.
“Wow.” She chuckles. “Okay, bye. Good luck with that, I guess. Lose my number.” She scoffs as she stomps out the door. Ellie bites her tongue, fighting back the urge to tell her it was indeed, never saved.
But before she can say anything else, Cat’s practically running down the stairs. Ellie follows her down at a reasonable distance, smiling to herself at the thought of Cat finally disappearing.
When they reach the living room, however, cat doesn’t make her way to the door. No, not at all. She’s walking towards the kitchen, ignoring all the people in her way, her eyes focused on one person. You.
Immediately in this moment Ellie regrets not being meaner. “Fucks sakes.” Ellie curses under her breath, stepping to the side to get around two drunk teenagers who were definitely not old enough to be here. The fucking nerve on this girl is astonishing.
Ellie wishes she could get to you first, to scoop you into her arms and promise you that everything would be fine. But just as her fantasy progresses into her kissing you and telling you how she really feels, her arm is pulled from the crowd. And when she turns her head she’s met with the eyes of her very angry best friend.
After being embarrassed for the second time today, your best friend grabbed your hand and pulled you upstairs in a desperate attempt to diffuse the chaos. But even isolation couldn’t stop your mind from wandering.
You couldn’t get the look on your brother's face out of your head, or the sick insults that Cat threw at you with full confidence. You knew it was wrong of her, but part of you wonders if she was right.
You run two stressed hands down your face, letting your back press into the sheets of your bed. Callie is standing right in front of the door, her arms crossed as she speaks.
“That was so fucked up! I’m gonna kill her!” She yells, stomping towards the bed. You can tell how angry she is from her voice alone. If it was up to her, Cat would’ve been dealt with a long time ago.
You nod into your hands, sighing heavily as the weight of what you had caused finally settles on your shoulders. There’s still music soaking through the walls, the soft hum of some rap song shielding you from the inevitable chatter of the public.
“Yeah…” You sigh. Your response is dazed and far away, your eyes focusing on the roof as you try to suppress the heavy emotions that are racing through you right now. You huff, bringing your fingers to meet in the middle of your chest.
You pick at your nails until you wince, digging your fingernails beneath the acrylic on your thumb and dragging the top of your nail down your cuticle.
Your friend sits down on the bed. You ignore the frustration that sparks when the mattress dips beneath her. “I’m so sorry.” She whispers into your air. She brings a hand to your forehead, wiping the loose baby hairs from the sticky skin.
“It’s—fine.” You shut your eyes, sighing in replacement of any word that would actually describe how you’re feeling right now. Callie’s looking down at you with those sympathetic brown eyes, her purse still hanging over her shoulder like she would eventually make her way back into the crowd.
“I saw you standing with that guy earlier…you should go.” You gesture to the door, giving her a small smirk.
“No, no. I can't leave you by yourself. That’s insane.” She promises, scooting closer to you. You know she wants to be here, but you can feel that she's itching for freedom. And truthfully, you would prefer to be alone.
“Seriously, it’s okay!” You sit up, leaning back on your hands. “I want you to enjoy yourself. You shouldn’t have to spend your summer comforting me. You should have fun, too.” You explain, placing a hand on her thigh.
She stares into your eyes, raising an eyebrow. You suspect she’s searching your eyes for any sign of dishonesty. “Are you sure? I don't think I could even go have fun knowing you’re going through this.” She frowns.
You quickly shake your head, brushing her off. “Honestly it’s fine. I think I’d rather be alone right now, actually.” The admission doesn't turn her away, or offend her. Instead, she nods, leaning in to give you a light kiss on the temple.
“Okay. If you’re sure.” She stands, pulling her skirt down over her ass. “Love you. Don't call her.” She walks over to the door, turning around and pointing a stern finger in your direction.
You roll your eyes, but smile. “I won’t.” You nod. She blows you a kiss through the air as she pulls the door open.
“Wear a condom!” You shout after her with a smile.
“We’ll see!” She shouts back. You grimace.
As soon as the door shuts behind her, your smile disappears. The dust settles almost instantaneously, you sigh, looking around the room for anything. You don't even know what you’re looking for. Something to distract yourself, maybe a forgotten joint
You sigh, glancing down your shirt at the remnants of Cats drink soaking into the material covering your chest. You run a few fingers over it, the shirt probably wouldn't stain, but her words sure would.
You quickly slip the tight top over your head, dropping it to the floor as you reach behind yourself and unclip your bra. Your nipples quickly harden at the cold air pressing against them.
You allow yourself to be vulnerable for a moment instead of instinctively bringing your hands to your chest to cover yourself. You search the room for something baggy, a big shirt or a hoodie that you can sink into.
You come across a clean hoodie hanging off your bed frame, a baby blue pullover with nothing on the back. You’ve had it since you were young, one of the staples of your wardrobe that you can't seem to get rid of.
Despite the heat, you pick it up without second thought, throwing it over your frame. You quickly step out of your bottoms, reaching for a pair of worn out pajama shorts to shove on top of your underwear.
You shove your heels off your feet, tossing them into a corner of your room to rot until you have the energy to deal with them.
The party was seemingly still in full swing, you assume that the people downstairs had already forgotten about the chaos centering you. You groan in embarrassment at the memory. Even if it was just an hour ago, it still reigns terror on your mind.
“Fuck…” you mutter under your breath. You’re standing idly in the middle of your bedroom, hands lingering at your sides as you just—glance around. You kick up the corner of your rotten down rug, the dirty little thing had been in your since you were a pre-teen, the fabric now compacted from being walked over so often.
You look up at your phone, which is resting over on your bed. You bite down on your lip, gnawing on the skin to keep you from sighing.
The house is still full of people, music and drunk screams bouncing around the hallway. There’s a girly but boisterous laugh that sounds like it's coming from right outside your door. You groan, snatching your phone from the bed and slipping your feet into a pair of slides.
You glance between your bedroom door and the window. “Is this open?” The girl slurs, knocking on the wooden door. “Is someone fucking in here?!” She laughs, and there's a second voice that follows.
You roll your eyes, walking over to the door and pushing the lock in before this random drunk girl and her friend burst into your room unwelcomed. Your chest settles knowing that she won't be getting access to your space, but that leaves you with only one way to get out.
You walk over to the window, pushing it open with a small grunt. Well. It was this or nothing. You shove one leg out of the small opening, then the other.
It actually wasn't this or nothing, you could very easily go out there and tell that girl that your room is absolutely off limits. But the thought of possibly running into your brother, or Ellie for that matter drives you away. Solitude is what you need, and if that means throwing yourself out of a second story window to escape, so be it.
You hit the ground hard. Luckily you landed on your feet, phone and keys still in your hand. You smile, chuckling to yourself. You quickly scurry away from the house, your best bet to get some alone time was probably going to be the beach.
There usually weren’t many tourists roaming the water at this time of night. You’d be surprised if there was anyone there at all, especially knowing every other house was open to the public with free alcohol.
The walk was nothing more than five minutes, the water was almost visible from your house. You duck through a few backyards, avoiding your own like the plague. You pull your hood up for extra security after seeing a group of teens wandering through the same area as you.
Your phone rests untouched in your pocket, you had no headphones, no internet, no connection to those at home. It feels good to know you’ve frayed the cord between you and that house, the people inside of it.
You should call your mom, ask her about her vacation to get your mind off of everything. But your current inner turmoil makes that task almost impossible. You didn't want to think about the house, or the breakup, or the fact that your brother might hate you.
It’s all just too much.
When the concrete finally turns into sand, you sigh. You take in the fresher air, the sound of the waves crashing against each other in the background. It’s soothing, the perpetual motion of water moving in and out of itself calms you.
You silently thank god that there’s nobody on the sand, or out in the sea to bother you. You aren't sure you were willing to be perceived right now.
You sit down just a few feet shy of the shore, letting the water just barely kiss your skin. Your shoes are beside you, ignored, as your feet rest in the water.
You rest your head on your knees, closing your eyes as the sound of the waves and the cool breeze consume you. You drag a single finger through the sand, drawing out a few small symbols beneath you.
So many thoughts run through your head. As much as you try to keep it empty, vacant of any mention of Ellie, she somehow finds her way back. The feeling of her skin against yours as you lay against her. The smell of her hair after a shower, when you would rake your hands through it as she kissed all over your face. You can still feel her hands on your hips, your shoulders, your neck. The green of her eyes as they look down at you, the eyes you could stare into for hours.
You bite down on your lip, picturing the smile that would appear on her face when you kissed her cheek. Or the curl of her lip when she would call you baby. You sigh, drawing out a small E in the sand before you grimace to yourself and scribble over it.
Don’t be weird.
You sit in silence for another couple minutes, relishing in the quiet, fresh, solitude that came with running away. You think about how you need to start packing soon, and how the impending doom of back to school would begin to loom.
It doesn't take long for your mind to circle back to Ellie, her tattoo’s, the way her fingers moved around your body with such expertise that you were sure it was fate. Part of you wishes you grabbed a joint, a cigarette, someone else’s vape from the coffee table. Anything.
You recall that time you snatched a Tito’s bottle and refused to let it go, chuckling to yourself as you reminisce. The cycle continues when you remember the reason why you had the bottle. The same reason you were sitting here, begging whatever was in charge of the world to take you out of it.
You look up from the sand, the light wind blowing your hood off of your head. When the fabric falls from around you, a figure in your peripheral vision is revealed to you. You jump, quickly turning your body to face the person.
Your heartbeat slows back down to normal when you’re faced with the cause of all your issues.
“Jesus Christ, Ellie! You scared the fuck out of me.” You look up at her, her face twisted into an apologetic frown. You tear your eyes away from her face before she can speak, looking her up and down before you push yourself to your feet.
“I’m sorry! I didn't mean to scare you…” there’s a brief silence tha follows as you dust the sand from your rear. She expects you to speak.
“What are you doing here?” You inquire, your voice fiat and stripped of any emotion.
Ellie chuckles, trying to ease the tension. “I could ask you the same thing.”
“I was just—thinking. Alone.” You throw your hands up. When you finally look back at her face, she looks distressed. But the moonlight highlights all her freckles, and her eyes look darker than they usually do.
“I—uhh, I thought you might be out here.” She smiles awkwardly, fiddling with her fingers as she glances at you. She almost shys away when you look at her, looking down at her fingers and then back up at you.
“Why are you here?” you snarl, stepping back towards the water.
She sort of stammers over her response, caught off guard by your confrontation. “I—I just—”
“You just what, Ellie?” You roll your eyes, pressing your feet into the ground even harder than before. You hope she can see the fury in your eyes, the weeks worth of resentment mixed with the disappointment that follows betrayal.
“You followed me out here to make yourself feel better? After embarrassing me in front of everyone?!” You’re slowly raising your voice, throwing your hands up as you speak.
“No—no! I’m not here to make me feel better, I—”
“How did you even know I was here?” You ask, peering at her through your eyebrows.
“I have your location, remember?” She replies, pointing at the phone shaped indent in your front pocket.
You nod, slightly embarrassed at your own forgetfulness. You look out at the water, and then down at your feet.
“Listen—” She starts, taking another step closer to you. She tries to reach for you, but you push her hands away.
“No! You listen.” You’re yelling now. “You have done nothing but embarrass me! You made me look like a fucking fool infront of everyone!” You throw your arm up, gesturing towards yourself as you speak.
Ellie rubs a hand down her face. “I didn’t—That wasn’t—It’s not like that!” She tries to clarify.
You cross your arms, shifting your weight onto one of your feet. “Oh, really? What the fuck is it like then? Sleep with me while Cat’s unavailable and then ditch me when she’s back?!” You specifically enunciate her name, Ellie winces. Maybe it’s petty, but at this point, you figure you deserve to be petty.
“That’s not at all what happened! Would you just listen to me for one second, please?!” She yells for the first time. Her eyes are pleading with you to just listen.
You scoff, but ultimately allow her to speak.
“I didn’t do any of this shit that Cat said—I would never. She lied to you, and I’m so sorry I didn't say anything. She manipulated me too, she told me you were fucking with Abby. And—and—”
“So you fucked her?!” You interrupt. “Abby is my friend. Why the fuck wouldnt you just ask me?! You’ve just made this whole situation impossible to deal with!” Your voice is loud as you basically spit at her.
“That was before! I was—with—her at the very beginning of our relationship, not during!” She reaches out for you again, and you almost let her pull you close.
You chuckle half heartedly. “Relationship.” You repeat, scoffing.
Ellie’s expression drops. You can tell she wants to argue back, to yell over you and shoe her explanation down your throat. But she doesn't.
And then she says it. Those three words that you’ve been waiting your whole life to hear.
“I love you!” The weight of her confession smashes against you like the crash of a particularly strong wave. And it doesn't end there.
“I know I've been shitty, trust me, I know. But I just–I need you to know that..I love you.” You shake your head, pulling yourself farther away from her. This can't be happening.
She lightly shakes her head, repeating her words for you once again. You can feel your eyes glossing over, the harsh stinging that has emerged behind them keeps you almost incapable of speaking without sobbing.
You open and close your mouth, struggling to formulate a response. “I–” You’re nothing short of stunned. You’ve waited a lifetime to hear her say this, to confess to you on the beach like in one of your favorite movies. But not like this.
She’s beginning to tear up now, too. Maybe she’s come to the realization that she’s the one who caused this, the burden of her own actions finally settling on her shoulders. Part of you fights your own emotion, she doesn't deserve your tears. But there is still a small part of you that wants to pull her into your arms and make this whole thing go away.
“That’s not fair, Ellie.” You shout, “You don’t get to do this to me!” Your voice breaks, Your voice breaks upon the last word. You fight the urge to start sobbing as she stares at you with her tearful green eyes.
You want her to step forward again, to keep pushing, to keep fighting.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, I'll say it as many times as you want me to, just–please.” She pleads. She steps up to you, gently bringing two trembling hands to each side of your face.
You let her hold you for a moment, fighting the instinct to bring your lips up to hers. But to let her hold you isn't rational, you quickly pull away. “You played me. You—You made me look stupid in front of everyone.”
“I lied for you, I poured my heart out to you and you made me look fucking stupid. I had sex with you! I’ve never done that with anyone and I know you know that.” You shout, prodding her right in the middle of the chest.
She steps back, tears forming in her eyes once again. You don't think you can handle the sight of her crying for you, you don't doubt that it would be the final straw to bring you there as well.
“Don’t do this…Please, I can't—I don't wanna lose you.” She whispers, looking directly into your eyes, searching for something, anything. Any sign that you still want her. But she doesn't find anything, in fact the only thing she’s able to identify is the sheer amount of resentment that you’ve built up in these past weeks.
“Yeah? Well, you can't, Ellie. Because you can’t lose something you never had.” There’s a storm of emotion brewing in your head, your voice wavering as you yell at her.
There’s a momentary pause, pushing the two of you farther apart.
“Why would you quote How to lose a guy in ten days at me?” She tilts her head, a half smile creeping up on her face.
You shake your head, your whole body running hot with embarrassment. You open your mouth to speak, and then quickly shut it again. “I didn't think you would recognize it—I panicked.” You admit, shamefully.
Ellie releases a wet chuckle, and the action forces you to do the same. But you’re quick to remember the reason you’re standing out here. All the betrayal, the pain, the loss.
“We’ve only watched it a hundred times together, I know you.” The final sentence lands with a harsh realization. She’s right. She does know you, no matter how hard you reject it. She had seen every part of you. Since you were a child she had seen everything. She’s seen you smiling as you recite romcom lines at her and your brother, and the crease in your eyebrows when you try to cover up the fact that you were dripping with regret. She’s seen you drunk, in love, and the most vulnerable parts of you.
“I’m not doing this.” You finally say. You step back as Ellie’s eyes grow larger once again. She looks around, confusion painting all of her features.
“Of course I love you, Ellie. I’ve loved you my whole life. But I don’t deserve this.” You shake your head, trying to collect yourself.
“Stop—” She rebuts, reaching out for you. But your quick to dodge her hands, reaching down to pick up your shoes.
“I need to be alone.” You shove past her, your voices overlapping as she calls out for you.
She calls out to you from her spot in the sand, but she doesn't take off after you. And you silently thank her for not following you, because you couldn’t stop the tears that were quickly running down your face.
You quickly stomp through the sand, stumbling and sobbing as you try your best not to topple over into its soft embrace. You hope to god that she couldn’t hear the snotty gasps that started leaving your throat as soon as you turned around.
When you push through the front door, the house is practically empty. There are no people left, just the ghost of what was just a large gathering and a huge mess.
You storm right past the pile of bottles lined up on the counter, and the unknown liquids that were soaking into your living room floor, and book it for the stairs. You climb them two at a time, your mind racing as you approach your bedroom door.
You wrap your hand around the doorknob, aggressively pushing forward. But, the door doesn't budge. You cuss under your breath, frustration building up when you recall the reason why. Stupidly, you had locked it before leaving earlier, desperate for people to stay out while you were away.
“Shit!” You whisper, but it comes out as more of a whine. You run your hands down your face, trying to stop the second wave of tears that were threatening to fall. Your chest heaves in and out as you stand there, crying into the wall.
You try to steady your breaths, but it takes you a while to get yourself to a place where you’re capable of thinking straight. It wasn't a big deal, you knew that, but stacked on top of all your other inconveniences, it sure felt like the end of the world.
You slowly collect yourself before quietly stepping down the stairs with a little less urgency than before. You make your way to the kitchen, pulling out the cutlery drawer and reaching for a butter knife before retreating back up to your room.
It only takes 5 seconds for you to twist the lock open and push the door open. It takes three for you to drop the butter knife onto your vanity and to push it back shut.
You stand idly in the middle of your room for a moment, fiddling with your fingers at your sides. You aren’t quite sure what to do with yourself, but you know that sleep is a lost cause.
Your mind travels as you slowly wander over to your closet. You pull open the doors and practically rip your suitcases out from beneath your clothing.
Without thinking, you begin ripping articles of clothing out of your closet, tossing them into a giant pile in the middle of the room. You’re quick to throw your suitcases down, prying them open with a sudden hysteria.
You start shoving dresses into one without folding them, grabbing every piece of clothing that you hadn't worn yet and dropping them into the suitcase without a care in the world.
Your flight is in 7 days, so it made sense to start packing now. Atleast, that’s what you’re telling yourself as you stand up and yank the bottom two drawers of your dresser. You yank out armfuls of clothing and toss them into the open suitcases, not really caring where they land.
You don't leave much in your childhood room that wasn’t there when you arrived, even opting to toss your old diaries into your dusty middle school backpack to travel home with. It looks practically the same as when you arrived, with only your everyday makeup on the vanity, and a few pairs of shorts lying out for the next few days.
It’s sad, sure. But it’s also much more freeing than you could’ve imagined.
You sigh, falling backwards into your sheets. You’re practically counting down the seconds until you get onto that plane and never look back. You’ve had enough stress for one summer.
You press your eyelids shut, taking a few deep breaths. But it's practically impossible to even think about falling asleep with all the turmoil circulating you right now. You sigh, bringing a single hand to cover your eyes.
There’s so many things running through your mind. Your brother, your mother, your school. There’s hundreds of thoughts circling your brain, but Ellie is number one.
The next few days pass in slow motion. You sneak through the house in the quietest hours of the night, when you’re sure nobody is awake to catch you. You slip out in the morning and don't come back until you’re sure the place is empty.
Callie picks you up whenever you ask, and lets you become a hermit in her house during the day. Your friends show up to Callie’s instead of yours, and it soon becomes easy for you to forget, or at least pretend you have.
You delete her contact, but keep her number—just in case.
Your best friend hardly presses for details, but it doesn't take long for you to crack, letting the waves of Ellie’s confession fall through. Her hands fly to her face when you drop the 3 words. And she places a supportive hand on your shoulder when you admit that you ran away, again.
You silently thank her every time she lets you fall asleep on her shoulder, or when she brings you tea without you having to ask. You giggle over ice cream and movies with Netflix lighting while you assure her she's your rock.
Your other friends are nothing short of amazing either. Paris and Jack bring drinks and snacks almost everyday, while the rest of the group bless you with their presence.
Luckily, Callie’s backyard also hosts a giant concrete hole full of water. You’re not sure your friends would’ve stayed sane if it weren’t for Callie’s pool.
That’s what has led you to now. Sitting on the edge of the pool as the nighttime air looms over you. Your fingers grip the concrete edge as you kick your feet back and forth. The water is warmer than usual, probably from the amount of bodies it was holding just a few hours earlier, if that’s even a thing.
Callie hosted a small party in the early evening, inviting your friends and their extended peers over to take shots and swim in the pool. It had come to an end just an hour ago, leaving you and your group of friends alone in the house.
Callie’s parents are quite like yours, never home, never attentive enough to notice the sneaky shit. Most parents in beach towns like yours are only parents by accident, and that makes for great summers with even greater parties.
Everyone else is inside now, tidying up the kitchen. You had snuck away a few minutes ago to clear your head. The party was fine, mid in the words of Declan. You had a few shots, talked up a few girls with intentions of never seeing them again, and almost cried at the thought of Ellie.
You let the water settle at your ankles, staring down at the dim reflection of your face in the water. Your mind runs through a field of thoughts, as your eyes gloss over.
You’re almost completely still until a firm hand on your shoulder shakes you out of your trance. You quickly look behind you, eyes wide.
“Woah, woah, woah.” Abby chuckles, lifting her hands up in defense. “Didn’t mean to scare you.”
You wave her off, an embarrassed smile building on your face. “You’re all good.” You close your eyes, shaking your head.
There’s a toothy grin on Abby’s face, it highlights her face, and something about it gives her a feminine touch that you hadn't quite noticed before.
“So, can I sit?” She gestures to the ground beside you.
You look up at her and then back at the ground, almost in disbelief that she would even ask. “Yeah, of course!” You almost exclaim, even scooching over to give her a space to sit.
She nods, muttering a small thanks as she dips her feet into the water. There’s a few minutes of silence, not awkward, or tense. Just—silent.
She pulls a small joint out of her pocket, a lighter from the other. And before you know it, it's being passed between the two of you.
“I heard about you and Ellie.” She admits, blowing a mouthful of smoke out into the air. You nod, slipping the joint from her fingers.
“I could say the same.” You chuckle. Abby lets her head drop, a defeated laugh spilling from her lips.
“Yeah?” She asks. “What’d you hear?” She inquires, eyes moving over your face as you take a hit.
“That you don't like each other very much.” You look back at her, wincing as the smoke travels into your lungs.
She nods, shrugging. “Basically, yeah.” You both laugh, staring out at the sky as the joint wastes away between your fingers.
“Why?” Your voice crackles. You clear your throat, glancing over to her.
She reaches for the joint. “It’s a long story…It’s stupid. But, to put it shortly, we had a stupid falling out in high school. And we’re both stubborn as fuck.”
“Why did you fall out? Were you friends?” You inquire, your eyes starting to close. You can feel the high hitting you now, your conscience distancing from you as you feel your shoulders relax.
“We were actually. I had this scholarship lined up and Ellie didn't really—care about that stuff. Like she did, but…differently. She’s naturally smart, and I was kinda relying on sports. But—Uhm, we got into some trouble and it almost messed with my scholarship, and high school me was kinda like it’s all her fault.” She explains, chuckling at herself.
You’re quick to jump in, swatting the smoke away from your mouth as you exhale. “So she fucked you over?” you interject, your tone is bordering on accusatory.
“She didn’t really fuck me over, it was stupid high school drama. But it hurt me at the time.” She shrugs, kicking a single foot through the surface of the water.
You nod, glancing over at the side of her face. Your eyes trace the bump on her nose, and the way her eyelashes land softly on her cheek.
“What about you? What’d she do to you?” She nods in your direction. She stompas the roach out on the concrete beside you before turning the rest of her attention to you.
You shrug, conflicted. “We had a misunderstanding, i guess.” Is what you settle on. You’re not sure it’s safe to air out all of your business to Abby. You’re not sure if you’re ready to come to terms with it, either.
“Right. I heard Cat was involved.” You nod. “You know, her and cat were dating when we had our issues, too. That girl’s a shit starter.” She points out. You didnt know that the falling out with Abby happened at the same time she was dating cat, but it does make sense.
“Ellie’s her own person.” You rebutt.
“That’s true.” Abby smiles, “All I’m saying is that Cat’s god awful to be around. She gets so…entranced in drama. It like—fuels her.” She laughs, leaning back on the palms of her hands. You let out a light chuckle too, looking over at her.
The light breeze is blowing her few strands of loose hair out of her face, her sculpted smile and chiseled nose give her face a perfect harmony. Part of you begins to wonder. If Ellie could fuck other people, why can’t you.
You look at Abby again, deeper. And try to emulate the same need that flows through your body when you’re sitting across from Ellie. But the feeling never comes.
You cant force it. You had never been able to. That’s why you never had any partners throughout highschool, and why your first kiss was with a girl who stood eerily close to Ellie’s height, with the same eyes and almost the same amount of freckles.
You hate to admit it, but your whole life has been tainted by her presence, even when you were away. You love her too, and there’s nothing you can do to change it.
An aggravated Paris sticks her head out of the back window, whistling at the two of you by the pool. “Hey! Where the hell have you been?!” She shouts from a cross the yard.
You and Abby both pause, turning around to meet her eyes. “Here?” Abby yells back, causing you to let out a half serious laugh.
“Get in here! There’s puke in the back tub that’s not gonna clean itself!” She yells, before retracting her head back inside and slamming the window shut. The two of you break into a small fit of childish giggles.
“God. I’m so good without touching puke tonight.” You groan. Abby stands, reaching a helping hand out to pull you up form the ground.
“I know. The party wasnt even that lit. People need to learn their limits.” The blonde replies. You silently agree, gazing down at your feet as the two of you re-enter the house.
The room is full of your friends, laughing and shouting as they throw cans in each others directions, and freak out over the mess.
The scene sends an unfamiliar warmth through your heart. “I’m gonna miss this when I leave.” You admit, sombrely.
Abby throws you a sympathetic smile. “When do you leave?” She asks, picking up a can from her feet and tossing it into the trash can.
You sigh, curling your fingers around the neck of an empty bottle. “Three days.”
could you please write a scenario where Ellie is a tattoo artist? The reader books a thigh tattoo appointment expecting a male artist, but upon arriving at the studio, realizes it’s actually Ellie 😭 Ellie is older and confident, and she immediately starts teasing and flirting with the reader. \:

────୨ৎ────
you’ve been seeing so many tik toks over the last few weeks about garter tattoos. ones with a lace design, some with bows, others with musical notes. it’s all you can think about! they’re so so cute but also very sexy.
so obviously you make an impulsive decision to do a walk-in at a nearby tattoo shop. you don’t exactly feel nervous when you first walk in, but you definitely take notice of the intricate designs posted along the walls in the dim lighting. they’re pictures of past clients’ finished product. there’s some of skulls on arms, roses on shoulders, tramp stamps; and you feel relief at the fact they look amazing.
you’ve never gotten a tattoo before — well, that stick and poke of a small smiley face near your ankle from your sophomore year of college doesn’t really count, so getting your tat done here feels reassuring.
at the front desk, there’s your typical buff, motorcycle-gang-looking man. it racks up your nerves until he speaks.
“hey little lady, what’s got u in here today?” he seems kind, he has a little southern drawl to his voice.
“uh i wanted to get a thigh tat.”
“thigh tat huh?” he takes a quick up and down glance at you. “this your first time?” he says, noticing no bold piercings or other tattoos.
“yea. ‘m feeling kinda reckless today.” you joke, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
“ah, i see. we get a lot of those from you college kids. i’ll need a name, a signature on this form, and id.”
you tell him your name before passing over your drivers license. “alright, you’re all good. sign this right here, it’s just a liability and consent form.”
after signing, you pass the waiver back and he motions over to the couches that are the waiting area. “i’ll call you up when our artist is ready.”
────୨ৎ────
while waiting, you find the tattoo reference that you’ve been dreaming of in your camera roll.
now that you’re actually about to do this, anxiety sets in and you realize that this’ll be on you for the rest of your life.
is this really what you want? should you find a backup that’s less intricate so it’ll hurt less and be done faster? what about-
“hey little miss, she’s ready for ya.” she? you think. you only ever expect guys to be working at these kinds of places. but at least there’s some familiarity by being in the same room as a girl, laying in all kinds of positions while getting the tattoo done. “room’s down the hall and second door on your right.”
you thank the man and warily start walking down the hall. the previous guy that was in her room walks out. he’s seemingly happy with the finished product. and he should be. it’s an incredibly highly detailed sleeve tat.
you’re unsure of whether you’re supposed to knock or just walk in, but you take the safe option anyway, knocking twice.
you hear some shuffling behind the door before it opens. and oh my god. this girl is fucking hot. you quickly take note of her beautiful green eyes, the eyebrow slit, the small cut on her lip, and most of all, the prettily scattered freckles along her cheeks.
unbeknownst to you, she’s as equally entranced by you as you are to her. she immediately notices your long eyelashes framing your eyes, your plush pink lips, and your cute nose. judging by how cute you are, she can tell this’ll be a very interesting session.
“hey. you didn’t have to knock y’know.” she chuckles, opening the door wider for you to come inside.
you let out a breathy laugh yourself before stepping inside. “sorry, i’ve never done this before, i wasn’t sure.”
“‘s no problem, angel. you can have a seat right here.” you feel your face burn at the nickname, and apparently she notices the blush across your cheeks, because she smirks to herself before putting on her gloves.
as you sit you can hear the paper crinkle under you and place your bag on the floor. “what’s your name?” you tell her and she repeats it under her breath while keeping her eyes focused on you. “pretty name for a pretty girl. i’m ellie.”
you offer a shy smile before thanking her. this has to be flirting, right? you’ve barely been in here for 3 minutes and she’s already throwing pet names and compliments at you. “so what’re we doing today?” she keeps looking at you, fully enamored by you. never would she expect to see such a cutie come in on a random thursday.
you can tell that eye contact is going to be a hard thing for you in the next hour or so. her gaze is so alluring that it raises a different kind of nervousness in you. you press your legs together. “um i wanted a thigh tattoo. like a garter tattoo to be more exact.”
pulling out your phone to show her the picture you saved, she whistles before speaking. god she keeps getting hotter by the second. “garter tat for a girl like you? that’s a dangerous combo.”
“a girl like you?” “dangerous combo?” yeah. she’s definitely flirting.
“yeah? n why’s that?” looking back up at her and tilting your head, hoping to get some sort of reaction from her.
she seems amused by your question. she knows exactly what you’re doing. “i’m sure you’re aware, angel.” there it is again with that damn nickname. if you had to come from the sound of someone’s voice, you’d choose ellies a million times over.
but you’re a little disappointed by her answer, you wish she gave you a straight answer. however you’re here for a reason, so you show her the inspiration before she nods and gets her ink colors ready.
────୨ৎ────
“you said you’ve never gotten a tattoo before? the outter part of your leg won’t hurt as bad as the inside. just a heads up.”
the inside part of your leg. now you remember you’re going to have to open your legs for an unknown amount of time for her to work on the inside of your thigh. “yeah, first time. i got a stick and poke a couple years ago, but i don’t think that counts.” you chuckle out of nervousness.
“oh yeah? tell me about it, sweetheart. it’ll take your mind off the pain.” her voice is low and sultry. you wonder what else could take your mind off the pain. like her mouth on yours in between sections.
“i went to this party my friend was hosting and we were drunk off our asses. she got a stick and poke kit off amazon a couple weeks before and started offering one to everyone.” ellie laughs at that. it’s a beautiful sound. she grabs her pen and dips it in the ink. “i’m gonna start okay?” she says quickly, wanting to get back to your story.
you take a deep breath and nod. you’re sitting upright against the chair as she starts working on the front of your thigh. you immediately giggle at the prickling sensation.
“something funny?” she laughs herself at your antics but fully focused. you’re a little tense while trying to calm yourself. “it tickles.” she smiles at that, you’re so goddamn cute.
────୨ৎ────
you continue your story, explaining how the only design you could think of for your stick and poke was a smiley face. she briefly stops her drawing on your leg to glance over at your ankle. “y’know it’s kinda cute actually.” she teases.
“oh shut up. it’s a reminder of my stupidity.”
“you got a nice memory out of it though, no? i’d call that a win.” she swipes some ink off with a paper towel before gripping your thigh again.
every time she re-grips your thigh it’s like a new surge of energy flows through you. you can’t help but stare her long and slender fingers. you wonder what else they can do. her sleeve tat doesn’t help either. she’s so sexy it hurts.
you take a deep breath at the thought of her fingers in your mouth. her last remark doesn’t even register in your brain, but “angel.” does.
“hm?” you look back at her, praying to whatever god is out there that she didn’t catch you shamelessly staring at her hands.
a knowing smirk plastered on her face. “nothing, never mind it, sweetheart.”
she definitely noticed, but it only makes your body grow hotter. “i’m gonna start on your inner thigh. i need you to turn your leg over for me, baby.”
the moment you’ve been anticipating this whole time is finally here. she can feel how tense you are and starts rubbing the lower part of your thigh. “you’re doing good baby. you can hold onto me if you want to, just breath.”
you take a breath and nod. the moment the pen presses against your inner thigh you take a sharp inhale and squeeze your eyes shut. and fuck, if she wasn’t already so entranced by you before, she definitely is now.
as she glides the pen over your thigh you can’t help but let little whimpers slip out of your mouth. “you still with me, angel?” she sneaks a quick glance at your precious face, all scrunched up.
a simple “mhm” is all you can let out and it’s so close to a moan that now she can’t help but squeeze her lugs shut for a second. “you’re doing so good for me. we’re almost done, just this last part.” her voice is so soft. so reassuring. the mix of pain and her voice makes your head spin.
she hits a certain nerve of your thigh and let out a sharp whine. you instinctively clutch onto her bicep and glance down to your leg. ellie’s boxers feel tighter and tighter around her clothed cunt the more you make these sounds. she wonders if you’d grasp onto her and make the same noises if she was pounding into your pussy with her strap. she hopes she can find out.
she glances at you again to find you already staring at her with your eyebrows furrowed and eyes pleading for her. pleading for what exactly? she’s not entirely sure, but she does know it’s an adorably fuckable expression.
you grip her bicep tighter, “ellie, please. please tell me you’re almost done.” you sound so out of breath. so desperate for this to be over. but all she can think about is how much more she can milk the fuck out of this. “almost done, sweetheart. i promise. just a little longer, you can take it.”
was ellie purposely adding in sexual innuendos into her choice of words? maybe. but you can’t blame her! you sound so cute all dumb and desperate.
you whine again and tilt your head up, cute nose pointed to the ceiling. your mind is empty besides thinking about her talking you through something else. you nearly cum at the thought before you hear the buzzing of the pen click off.
“see? i told you, sweetheart, it was over in no time. you did so good for me.” she gives a reassuring squeeze to your hand that’s on her bicep. it’s so cold compared to yours.
you glance down at the fresh tattoo on your thigh and all you can say is, “oh my god. it’s so pretty ellie.” you look over to her as your hand loosens on her bicep, suddenly feeling too aware of yourself.
“not as pretty as you are, baby.” her voice is back to that low and sultry tone and it’s obvious she’s sincere as she looks at you.
you gulp and suddenly the boldness you felt earlier to flirt back is gone. all you want is for ellie to have her way with you. she simply smiles at the fact you have no rebuttal. she takes off her gloves and goes to wrap your thigh.
you bite your lip as she wraps it. before you can overthink your next words, it slips out of you, shy. “ellie?” she looks up at you.
your lips are parted for a second as you glance from her beautiful green eyes to her lips, and back up. “will you kiss m-“ she cuts you off with her lips hurriedly on yours. it makes you slip out a noise of surprise and all ellie can do is groan back as her hands fly to your waist.
it makes you sit up and push your face impossibly closer to hers as your hands find the side of her face and slipping into her hair, tugging on it.
she whines at the fact and it makes you whine also, in turn.
you’re unsure of how long your lips were moving against hers. it could’ve been a few seconds, it could’ve been a couple minutes. but you can takeaway that she is an amazing kisser. her tongue slips into your mouth and you let a moan slip out of you.
as much as ellie would like to have sex with you right now, she’d much rather not have the first time be in her workspace and would definitely like to take you out first.
“wait-“ she pulls away and you whine. “you’re so beautiful angel, and i’d really like to fuck you right now…” she takes in your needy expression and she wants to give you everything she has to offer. “but i also really want to take you out and get to know you more first.” she tucks a strand of hair behind your ear and caresses your cheeks, her thumbs smoothing over the warmth of them.
“can we do that, princess?” she asks in a soft tone. you nod in turn, speechless and slightly surprised she was so straight forward with what she wants from you.
“words, baby. i want to hear you say it.”
“yes, ellie. i wanna go out with you. i want you.”
“good girl.” she presses a longer kiss to your plush and buzzing lips before giving you a sheet of instructions for how to take care of your tattoo.
and before you leave, you give her your number and press once last chaste kiss to her lips.
────୨ৎ────
ellie saves your contact in her phone as “my angel” and texts you later that day.
###-###-####: hi princess, this is ellie
my angel: oh hi ellie !!
ellie baby: i was thinking tomorrow night we could go out? i know a place, it’s nice.
my angel: okay :)) what time?
ellie baby: be ready by 8 pm. i’ll come pick u up then.
*my angel hearted the message*
my angel: kk my address is xxxxxx
my angel: i’ll be waiting ;)
*ellie baby hearted the message*
ellie immediately feels her stomach clench at your last text. she feels stupid about it but it’s easy to ignore the fact while she’s jumping around in her room in excitement.
────୨ৎ────
tomorrow comes quicker than expected and you started getting ready at 2 out of giddiness.
and honestly it’s a good thing you did. because you can’t figure out what the fuck to wear. you’ve done everything else already; your makeup, simple but eye-catching, your hair’s in princess curls, and every single inch of your body is shaved.
you’ve practically gone through your whole closet and when you check the time, suddenly it’s already 7:15. “what the fuck!” you exclaim in panic.
you’re mumbling to yourself at this point, frantic to find something fast. you finally settle on a pair of flared jeans, a nice, white blouse, and a pair of white ballet flats. simple but undoubtedly cute.
you’ve finished just in time because now it’s 7:47 and ellie sends a simple text saying omw. you contemplate having a glass of wine to calm yourself. and who are you kidding, the answer was always going to be yes.
────୨ৎ────
you hear a knock on your door and you quickly put your glass in the sink and the bottle back to its rightful place.
you take a deep breath before opening the door. holy shit, is what you say mentally as you take in ellie’s appearance. she’s in a black button up, black baggy jeans, and her dumb, beat up converse.
“wow, you look…really nice.” you say, clearly dazed.
she smiles at the compliment. “you don’t look too bad yourself, angel.”
she leads you to her car, an old chevy pick up truck. it suits her. she opens the car door for you and it smells like fresh pine inside. “thank you.” “course, princess.”
on the way over, she learns you also take an interest in alternative rock when the radio station plays a pearl jam song and you immediately jump in your seat and turn to ellie and say, “oh my god i love this song!”
she swears what she feels for you is love already.

a/n: if u didn’t see my previous post: i am super duper sorry for leaving and like not posting or saying anything… i was kinda going through a whole bunch and my therapist suggested a break from social media! but im back now and i have a lot in store for you guys. hope u all enjoy this bc i enjoyed writing it!! (p.s i have no idea where my banners or anything are so im just going to make some more, these post will look bland for a lil bit…)
you never meant for it to end up like this. you never meant to grow huge feelings for that stupid girl who sits in the corner of your biology class. but of course, it was just your luck that at the beginning of the year she was selected as your partner for all those dumb projects you had to do.
now, it’s your main objective to keep her a secret from everyone until at least summer comes.
you were sat at your vanity, doing your makeup to go hang out with your girls while ellie studied in your bed behind you.
ellie cleared her throat and you already knew what she was going to ask next. “angel, are you sure i can’t come with you guys? i won’t even bother, and… we haven’t gone out since a few weeks ago.”
you sighed at that, capping your lipstick in tossing it somewhere in your purse before turning around and looking at her with that pout.
“if you already know what i’m going to say, why must you keep asking?” you complained, running a manicured hand through your freshly curled hand. ellie whined and moved to sit on the edge of the bed. “okay, then, why don’t you just stay here?” she suggested much to excitedly as if you were going to say yes.
“ellie…” you started before she cut you off with another weak plea. “please, baby, please? i haven’t seen you outside of school or when you smuggle me through your window like i’m some kind of…” she paused, the word ‘secret’ lingering on the tip of her tongue before she dropped the topic completely.
“well, whatever. but please, why is it so hard to spend time with my girlfriend all of a sudden?” you bit the inside of your cheek, stifling a groan before looking down at your nails. “els, please don’t make me cry. look at how well i did my makeup!” you looked back up at her, batting your eyelashes.
“i’m gonna leave early to come back to you, baby, and we can do whatever tonight. i promise.” you stood up and walked to the edge of your bed, pressing a couple chaste kisses to her lips before pulling away and leaving her chasing for more.
ellie mumbled a defeated ‘fine’ under her breath, turning back to the notebook she was originally writing in. “yes! thank you baby, i love you soso much. i’ll be back later!” you squealed, grabbing your purse and slipping on your flats before rushing out of the door.
—
you were sitting on a bench with the book you were supposed to be reading with ellie for a project in your lap, waiting for her though she was nowhere to be found. you got up, slipping the book into your oversized purse and headed to the halls to look for her, your sandals slapping aggressively against the floor with every step you took.
after two minutes of searching and still no sight of her, you were going to give up and just head to the cafeteria where your other friends were. but as soon as you turned around, you heard a soft and familiar giggle, along with another— higher pitched one.
you were already upset, and that was quite literally the cherry on top. you instantly turned back around and headed to where you heard the laughing, turning a sharp corner and—
“oh my gosh, ellie, i don’t know why i haven’t hung out with you before. you’re such a cutie.” ellie’s cheeks flushed but it was from the awkwardness as the girl had been talking her ear off ever since she stopped her in the hallway.
both of their heads turned at the sound of your sandals, ellie’s eyes widening immediately. “ellie, what the hell are you doing over here. i’ve been sitting on that stupid bench waiting for you for, like, ten minutes!” you groaned, grabbing her wrist and tugging her over to you before you looked up and realized who that girl was that had been talking to her.
some random bitch who recently had been trying to get closer with your ellie. “and who are you to hold up my project partner with your lame jokes?” you scoffed, raising an eyebrow at her. “hey, relax, i was just… asking her about the homework
from earlier.” she rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest and looking at you as if you were a joke. your ego took a small hit at her response.
your lips formed a tight line before sighing and turning away with ellie’s wrist still tight in your grip. “there wasn’t even any homework today, dipshit…” you said with a small laugh before turning your head and giving her one last look. “and if you wanna impress someone, maybe buy some actual brandy melville. they aren’t even expensive.” you let out a giggle before continuing to walk back towards the courtyard.
—
you tugged ellie through your window with a little more force than necessary, a pout on your glossy lips.
“uh, hey angel…,” ellie peeped nervously as if she had already knew why you were upset. “don’t ‘hi, baby’ me. you already know what’s wrong.” you rolled your eyes.
ellie opened her mouth as if she was going to speak but opted for silence instead, looking down at her worn converses. “why were you talking to that cheapskate back there, huh? do you understand how embarrassing that is?” you raised your voice slightly, pacing back and forth as you gestured over-dramatically with your hands, what you always did when you were beyond upset.
“i was waiting on that stupid and dirty bench waiting for you, only to find you talking to some girl?!” you continued, finally stopping in your movements and looking at ellie with a slight tilt of your head. she broke the silence with what sounded like an apology before you quickly shut it down. “and that wasn’t even the first time you’ve done some stuff like that. you’re always finding time to talk to her during lunch, or in the hallways, or even during class!” you paused, thinking carefully about what to say next.
“if you want to go and be stupid with that bitch, then don’t do it while you’re with me.” you finally said, instantly regretting the words the moment they left your mouth. ellie looked heartbroken, she truly didn’t understand why her slip up today was making you so upset.
“i’m sorry, angel, i just… i swear i was trying to push her away. i swear! i don’t really know what her obsession is with me right now but you know i only have eyes for you. she won’t quit bothering me about everything. but please don’t leave me. because of… because of that girl. don’t leave me, please?” she pleaded quietly, slowly dropping to her knees in front of you and grabbing your hand, making it cup her own cheek.
you almost laughed at her. it was truly pathetic how quickly she got down on her knee for you without you even making her. you wanted to reach for your phone and take thousands of pictures of her, and treasure this forever, and look at them when you couldn’t sleep at night and she wasn’t there to satisfy the ache in your lower stomach.
you wanted to humiliate her. but you didn’t. no, instead, you cupped her cheeks with both of your hands and made her look up at you. “so cute, baby.” you sighed before shaking your head. “…i’m not leaving you… never. i couldn’t leave you. just, please. next time tell her something, right? you’ll tell her that you already belong to someone. that she should stop wasting her time with you.” you spoke in a soft voice, watching as the corner of her lips curled up into a small smile.
“or, should i take a picture of my sweet girl on her knees for me and show it to her, huh? that’ll keep her away.” her smile quickly changed into something more embarrassed and she shyed away from your gaze, hiding her face in your thighs. “no, i… i-i’ll tell her. to leave me alone.” she admitted shyly and you let go of her cheeks, fixing your hair.
“good, now.. get up. it’s sad looking at you down there.” you mumbled, turning around to sit down on your bed and get back on your phone, leaving ellie on her knees, and completely humiliated.
this is the end!! lmk if u wanna be added to my tag list..!!
btw do not under any circumstances feed my works to ai or chat bots.
Need to see a smut fic where the traffic light system is used but the light is red. Like, all the ones I’ve read are green which is obviously good for the smut but kinda boring…
southern!butch ellie thoughts nobody asked me for.
a little context: fem!reader is friendly neighbors with ellie but they aren’t really together in these. ellie obviously has a crush, though. no warnings for this just cute stuff. i missed writing for her:(
𐚁 wears boots, obviously. steel toes aren’t just for the grueling hours out in the texan sun, but also a steady platform for a pretty girl’s heels. within her journals are rough sketches of another woman’s feet resting atop hers, towering over her despite the extra inches her thrift store ariats provide. she doesn’t mind one bit. eventually, the sketches transform from a woman who doesn’t exist to a familiar set of feet: sketches of her neighbor’s belle pumps. the ones she only catches you wearing when it’s a special occasion, but she has them memorized in impressive detail.
𐚁 always a bit awkward and clings to the corner of the social gatherings, but if you ask her to open a beer bottle for you, she’ll give you a show of kicking that cap off with her belt buckle. she gets real embarrassed when the bitter foam leaks down the zipper of her jeans, especially when she catches your gaze falling down. it’s exactly what she pulled that move for, and yet she can’t help but feel her face heat up when it actually works. she hastily hands the bottle back to you.
𐚁 no AC in the ‘95 ford Joel forcefully passed down to her, so wherever she goes, it’s windows down or she arrives in a sheen of sweat. anyone who borrows the truck insists she get it fixed up, but southern!butch ellie is a bit of a cheapskate. at least she is when it comes to spending money on herself.
𐚁 the job she landed as a welder just a couple miles from her home pays her well enough that she can live comfortably, so you’ll be shocked when you see the state of her fridge. a bowl of leftover box mac n cheese, a half-empty milk carton that expired yesterday, questionable lunch meat, and miracle whip are the current contents simply because the hour and a half drive to the supermarket never seems all that worth it. she puts in more effort to come up with a suitable excuse to eat at your house at least once a week, anyway.
𐚁 she comes off as mean and reclusive to most, but ellie is quite reliable when you’re in a situation. she has general knowledge of car parts, so when you’re running late with a flat tire on the side of the highway, she doesn’t hesitate to pull out a jack and lug wrench from the bed of her truck. she also doesn’t say a word about the tears you wipe away when you see her pull over behind you. doesn’t ask for shit in return, either. if you ever bring it up again, she’ll give you an embarrassed groan to work with and insist,
“no, really. it’s not a big deal. just.. shut up about it.”
𐚁 still, ellie doesn’t want you ever stranded on the road without help. she doesn’t admit that the thought of you alone and found by the wrong person keeps her up at night sometimes. the one day off she gets, she spends it showing you how to change a tire amongst a couple other simple things. her rough hands guide yours with the wrench. you try not to think too hard about the way her freckles shimmer in the sunlight at just the right angle or the strain her jeans over her thighs as she slides under your car.
“you needa stop drivin’ this piece of shit all the way out to the city.” she tells you, though she’s all bark and no bark when it comes to her scolding. she’s more annoyed that she gets worried about you, and you don’t seem to notice the hints. “i told you already, you can borrow my truck. she breaks down once in a blue moon. that can’t be said for your heap of junk. fuckin’ hell, i told you not to get the shit off facebook marketplace.”
𐚁 what does she do with the money that she refuses to put toward actual groceries? well, a good chunk goes toward shimmer. horses are quite expensive, but she likes them more than she likes people. they’re quiet besides the comforting knickers and occasional neighs. they’re soft and worth every penny. they’re also worth you walking down to her land to pet shimmer through the fence. ellie knows she’d be sour if shimmer liked anyone else more than her since she spends a hefty amount to spoil, but she doesn’t mind it half as much when it’s you. it also gives her the perfect chance to be near you, even if she doesn’t know what to say to you. it’s a certain type of peaceful silence that comes when the both of you are petting on shimmer, glancing at each other when you think the other isn’t looking.
𐚁 she isn’t embarrassed to admit some of the extra cash also goes to her friends and you. ellie has never been one for expensive shit, but she finds herself silently annoyed when someone else gets to the bill first at the bar or a nearby diner. don’t even try to pay it. she’ll make another jab about how you should be saving up for a better car so she doesn’t have to pull over for you, even though she knows she doesn’t mind it one bit. rather her than anyone else.
𐚁 though she claims to only watch movies when Joel puts on an 80’s action film, ellie has a strong obsession with the space genre. you happened to mention watching interstellar and it spiraled from there into her own lesser-known, older favorites.
“you like them space movies too, huh? they’re okay, i guess. i got a few burned into dvds if yer ever lookin’ to borrow. don’t make it into a thing, please.”
𐚁 taking compliments isn’t her strong suit. when you catch her truck parked out by her mailbox, sifting through junkmail before she leaves to get a few drinks with Jesse at the bar in town, you say something about her old flannel button-up, to which she groans to play off the smile that she can’t ever seem to hide around you.
“it’s just some old shit. i wear this like, everyday.” yeah. you notice every single time, but you especially noticed today because she now has it unbuttoned, a black, thin tank-top clinging to her beneath it. “thanks, though.” she mumbles in the soft voice reserved for the times she can’t not show a little vulnerability.
ellie and her obsession with your clit needs to be studied. you both were cuddling a few minutes ago and now her mouth is latched to your pussy, lips desperately kissing all over your vulva in a pathetic attempt to locate your clit in the dark. she's so sleepy and so are you that often she's bumping her head against your inner thighs. every time she does, you laugh groggily and she groans against your cunt, feeling around with her mouth more. but the second she finds it—you're done for.
