Do you ever watch a show or listen to a person and physically feel yourself losing brain cells or becoming more stupid?
— Elliot blinks a couple of times from the sudden question, his finger acting as a bookmark for his journal as he closes it, one leg crossing over the other as he relaxes into the park bench, smiling up at the girl before him. The question threw him off guard completely. He wasn’t expecting a female to suddenly appear like some magical girl to converse with him but even though it was random, he did appreciate the question. Elliot’s pen tap against the edge of his journal as he speaks up, his strong English accent being evident.
“Ah, yes. It happens quite often for my personally.
Well– I don’t think I could ever become more stupid.
I like to think positive about myself if I can—
I think it’s best if we both just try to ignore the idiots, hm?”
He let’s out a soft chuckle before he slips his finger out from between the pages before placing his journal in his bag, smiling still before he places the bag between his legs. Elliot brushes off the bench before he lightly pats it with his head cocking to the side.
“Would you like to sit down?”
Usually Ai tried not to disturb people who seemed busy or engaged in something, like reading or writing, but it had been a question that had gnawed on her mind for the last ten minutes. Not that it was important, but someone else had to feel the same, surely. In any case, the person she did decide to disturb didn’t seem to mind much, which was great because usually people reacted with annoyance. And, as he spoke, she became even more glad that she had asked because he was obviously a foreigner! What was better than a foreigner? Not much! Although technically, she was one too in Korea, but he had an...English--maybe American--accent.
His response was better than she could have expected and it made her laugh, mostly because he seemed like a very positive person, and that was refreshing to be around.
“That’s true...maybe it’s not possible to become more stupid, but it feels that way sometimes. Though it’s hard to ignore them when they’re talking to you--”
Speaking of which, she had just approached a random person and asked them a question that would appear to have come out of nowhere...whose to say that she wasn’t an idiot talking to someone? His reaction had her reassured that she wasn’t, in this case at least, seen as one. Smiling gratefully, she sat on the dusted off spot beside him and stretched her legs out before glancing down at his bag. “Were you writing something important? I try to write sometimes, but I’m not very good at finishing things and I usually only make it halfway through...if that.”
