@onenicebugperday
anyone else get as excited about tiny millipedes as me??
@onenicebugperday
I also forgot to post this amazing moth I rescued from when I worked at a conference center! It was drawn to the fireplace, and that was not going to happen!!! honestly one of the most magical bug moments of my life! I believe it’s a tulip tree silk moth in the callosamia family? @onenicebugperday
I never uploaded this!!! it’s from when we first moved in a few years ago, and I’d never actually seen this kind of millipede before :D I can’t wait to see them again this summer!
As I was enjoying the perfect weather, I probably watched these black ants for about 30 minutes as they did their ant things: grabbing big food bc they’re so strong, peekin out of their new entrance hole, digging (?), and grabbing yet more food to bring back! (Sorry for the noise in the bg; someone was doing lawnwork) They kept tickling my feet so I kept having to move them off and back on the ground!
Also some more ANTics including the annual symbiotic chewing the wax off of the peony buds so they can bloom under the cut!
completely unsure of what these wiggly worm fellows are in the pond, but they're all over it in blobs just like this, dancing away until a strong wind passes by! any ideas @onenicebugperday?
the tulip tree beauties have returned!! they're so friendly!! <3 @onenicebugperday
how do they even make grasshoppers that small???? @onenicebugperday
