Meet the team!
Ellisa (24 years old, she/her)
I was born in Hoenn, and lived on route 103 just outside of Oldale town until my parents divorced when I was eight years old. Every four months I moved back and forth between my childhood home, where mom lived, and my dad's new house in Sinnoh. I attended school online, and when I turned ten, both of my parents got me starter Pokémon. This is something I discourage parents from doing now that I've grown. My Treecko, Lizzy, was a battle enthusiast, and my Piplup, Ripley, loved the attention of Contests, so I had plenty of excuses to get out of the house and away from my (suddenly) overbearing parents.
By the time I was sixteen, I had collected sixteen badges and a ribbon for the Master rank cuteness competiton, however instead of going after the league, I decided to take an offer for a special study course under Professor Oak. The course was for kids and young adults who had goals of becoming professors themselves one day, and the campus was in Kanto. Having to move far away from from anywhere I called home was rough, and I had never been to in-person school. To prepare for this, my counselor recommended support Pokémon, who would never be a part of a battle team, but instead took turns helping me with anxiety, ADHD, and remembering to take care of myself. This is how I met Pan and Nyx, my Espeon and Umbreon.
Graduation required a number of community service hours and some Ranger training, which I fulfilled by volunteering to rescue and rehabilitate Pokémon through the Rangers Service. During this time I helped countless Pokémon, however the last one really stuck with me. Dusk, my Drifblim, was just a little Drifloon at the time, abandoned deep inside the Solaceon Ruins. Rehabilitation was long and tough, as they were scared of everything, and our bond grew too much to separate us. I gave up on becoming a professor, and decided there were better ways to make a difference. And now we're here, on Foster Island, trying to do just that.
